A Dark Seduction 3

Attacked!!!!
Hello,
Here's chapter 3,
Enjoy!

****************************************************************
I learned two things. My mother knew about ‘me’ and what I did, the second thing I learnt was, never, ever wear an expensive top on your birthday, especially if you’re a demon slayer.

So there I am sobbing pathetically, I don’t cry often, but now that I am, I can’t seem to stop. If it’s one thing I hate, it’s crying. I just can’t handle a situation where tears are involved.

"But… but…. What’s happening to me?"

My mother sighed and rubbed my back comfortingly. "You’re a witch Lizzie, I’ve known since you were born, but I decided to keep it a secret. I wanted a normal life for you. When a witch turns seventeen, that’s when his or her powers start to kick in. You have to be very careful, that it does not rule you,"

Just then Deyston came running into the room, "Liz, you’ve got to get out quick, the-"

But he never got to finish his sentence. The door slammed open, with such a great force it got ripped off its hinges. Deyston got thrown back with such an elite force, I heard the bones of the body snapping. A Gorgon.

It looked hideous. A Gorgon, a mythical Greek creature from the legend of Peruses, it really was ‘that’ ugly. Its hair was that of snakes, black ones. The robe she wore was also black and her eyes….. her eyes were ones made of stone…. She pointed a finger at me.

"Die, traitorous witch. Master will be pleased that I have slain the Daughter," Her accent was Latin. I didn’t get it. Now we have a mythical ‘Greek’ monster which has a ‘Latin’ accent. What gives?

She shrieked and lunged at me. I flew backwards, smashing the window and landing on my back outside. I groaned as I tried to move. One thing about me, I am very hard to kill. Okay, now I was mad. It was my seventeenth birthday I just scared the wits out of my friends, found out that I was a witch and now this.
I climbed the tree that led to my bedroom window and hopped in. Luckily I didn’t close it. I slowly stepped inside, careful not to make any noise. I dug into my wardrobe pulling out the chest with all of my weapons in it.

I loaded myself with guns that had silver bullets, stakes and strapped a knife to my leg as a last resort.
I opened my room door and walked out. My arms outstretched holding the guns, ready to shoot at anything if I have to. I checked all of the upstairs rooms, they were clear. I saw a black shape skitter across the floor downstairs. I fired without thinking. Shoot first ask questions later.

I didn’t know what happened. First I was trying to look at what I shot without being seen, and then I was flying backwards again. My back came into contact with the wall. I fell. I was breathing hard. I had just had about enough with this.

I fired repeatedly, my hands shaking from the impact of each bullet. I fired the last one. Damn! I chucked the guns away and ran to hide behind the door. I looked out, to see if the gorgon was there. She wasn’t. I saw its trail of black ink. I turned, the gorgon exploded from underneath the desk. I shielded my eyes from the splinters.

Before I knew it I was being dragged by my feet, closer and closer to the gorgon. I reached for my boot and pulled out the knife and cut the snakes. It screamed and lunged at me. I flew down the stairs. The Gorgon came sailing downwards. I rolled over. The kitchen was a mess with bits of wood everywhere.

I got up and ran to the kitchen and pulled the drawer where my mum kept the knives, one by one I hurled it at the gorgon.

Damn, it was good at dodging. But finally, one of my knifes hit it right in the chest. It screeched again. The snakes on its head extended, growing longer and longer. I was breathing heavily. This was officially the worst birthday ever. We circled each other like you would do so in a boxing ring. Splinters covered the floor and most of the furniture was in ruins.

I had cut my lip and my hair was a mess. I thought back, how do you kill a gorgon?

"Who sent you?" I said. Not politely, may I just mention.

It hissed at me, "You will die, traitor," she said. The
gorgon’s face was black filled with wrinkle’s and extremely ugly. I honestly wondered why I didn’t get turn into stone. But I guess, magic that works on, shall I say, humans, probably was more lethal than on a fellow Medea.

"I will not ask again," I said.

It laughed, LAUGHED. It clearly didn’t know who it was messing with. I lunged at it. We fell backwards, me landing on top. I heard a noise behind me. I only risked a swift peak. It was Deyston.

"Liz, burn it!" Deyston picked up a splinter of wood, went over to the stove and lit it.

I was struggling with the gorgon. It had its hand around my throat. It hissed again.

"I…. Will not fail!" It screeched. With a push, I flew up towards the ceiling, and landed on my stomach. I groaned. Why hasn’t my back broken already? This only once again showed that I really ‘was’ hard to kill.

It fled upstairs. So I was the predator now, was I? Better to hunt than to be hunted. Deyston rushed over to me.
"Liz, Liz, you alright? Here," he handed me the burning wood, "Cut of its head then burn it, otherwise….. well…I’m sure you will know what will happen."

I nodded "Where’s mum?" I asked. I tried to get up, but my back hurt too much.

"She’s fine for now anyway,"

I got up and headed towards the stairs. I held the torch in one hand. I was running out of time, the flame was creeping closer to my hand each second. All was quiet but for the flickering of the flame. I saw it. It was in my room! It was in my bloody room! Touching ‘my’ stuff.

I crept quietly, not wanting to make any unwanted sounds. It looked up and saw me, damn it saw me! It smiled. I glared back. The gorgon disappeared deeper in my room. I ran inside. It rushed out from the closet. The closet with my shoes.

Oh no she didn’t! Those shoes cost me like two years salary to pay off, and now they’re getting destroyed in a day.

"You are so going to pay!" I lunged at it and held the stake to it. It screeched while it caught on fire. I went to the chest with my weapons in it and pulled out my samurai sword. (Don’t ask me where I got it from) I swung the blade as hard as I could and the gorgon’s head came off. Just like that. Now there was a new problem. The fire wouldn’t go out.

Hurrying downstairs, I got the fire extinguisher and put out the fire. I collapsed. It was over. I went looking for my mother. I heard a groan coming from behind the sofa. I ran only to see my mother’s weak body behind it.
"Mum, what-"

"Go to London, Attend the Meet, I will catch up with you there, I’ll be fine Lizzie, trust me,"

All I could do was nod. Deyston came to my side.

"Liz, we need to get ready now,"

"No! I can’t just leave her like this, who knows what will happen? We need to get you to a hospital"

I took her by the arm and tried to pull her up.

"No Lizzie, people will be coming, and I will need to explain what happened." She looked up at me with pleading eyes. "Trust me,"

. I took one last look at my mother then went with Deyston.

It was an hour before Deyston returned; he had now possessed the body of a 10 year old boy. I shook my head, not wanting to know where he got the body from.
He held out a hand.

"Come Liz, we must be prepared to fly to London; everything will be explained there,"

I thought I saw something in the trees. But when I looked closer nothing was there. Wishful thinking I suppose. I looked up at the sky. So many things had happened. My new powers, my mother, the gorgon…….

Was someone trying to kill me?
