A Dark Pursuit 9, the grand finale

We stood at the edge of the cliff, the wind tossing my hair in all directions.

I would not fail.

After the brothers had rescued me, they took me back to the castle. Kier had tried to talk to me, but I wouldn’t let him. I just…my heart was broken. I had loved for the very first time in my life and then it was all replaced by pain in a single second. I didn’t know what to do now. I had never thought that I would live without Kier until I finally knew how much he really loved me.

He didn’t.

Not at all, and that itself was strong enough to kill me. But I’d show him, I’d show him that I didn’t need him or his help. I would survive.

I had to.

Now, the waves crashed heavily against the cliff and the vibrations went through me.
This was it.

The battle we had all been waiting for.

The brothers joined hands. Theo, Drake, Gabriel and Kier, I stood in the middle.

The waves came up high and intimidating. Then, we saw him.

Their father.

He rose up from the waves, which had now turned black because of his tainted soul.

He looked different now. Much different, less human, more monstrous. His eyes were a glowing red and his teeth were sharp and pointed. It was hard to imagine these four handsome brothers came from him.

"You think to get rid of me?" he laughed loudly. "I will never die!" he held a glow of red light in his hand.
"You want your soul Kier? Join me now and you will have it."

"Betraying the people I love isn’t worth it." He replied.

I stiffened at that comment.

"Your choice." His father tucked it into his cloak, which then absorbed into his body.
He had Kier’s soul now.

There was no way he could get it back.

Rain of blood began to pour down on us.

I nodded for the brothers to begin.

"I call wind to this circle," said Gabriel.

A wisp of white cloud appeared above me in a form of a sphere.

"I call earth to this circle," said Theo.

A green light joined in with the white cloud and still, was held above me.

"I call water to this circle," said Drake.

Pure water joined in.

"I call fire to this circle," said Kier.

A blaze of red fire burned in.

"No matter what you do, I will never die!" Their father screeched.
The blood red rain kept on beating down upon us.

He charged at us. His darkness vibrating from him, covering the sky with black clouds, his teeth bared and hand ready to strike.

I clasped both my hands above my head, "I call spirit to this circle!" I yelled.
Suddenly, a single line of thunder came clashing through the clouds into me, becoming me. I was filled with raw power and the sphere that contained the four elements came washing through me. I absorbed it, moulded it to my will.

Just as their father was a meter in range I shot out my palm towards him and channelled my energy through it, which then expelled in a single stream that blasted right through him.

Theo made the soil rise up to wrap around his father, like two snakes entwining.

Drake created the water to cover all of him, drowning him.

Gabriel made the air thicken, which suffocated him.

Then Kier made his fire wrap all around him, burning him.

Their father fought the bonds clawing and scratching. But we were too powerful.

Finally, this was it.

Once again summoning all the power left in me, every single bit, I merged it into my hands, watching the glow of it grow bigger and bigger.

Their father’s eyes grew wide and he began clawing and thrashing once again in desperation.
I held the power in my hands, savouring for just one last moment until I had to part with it, then, released it to him.

All was silent for a moment. The glow of the light reflected in their father’s eyes and then the power
began clinging to him, moulding it’s self to him. He writhed and struggled clawing at his own skin. It reminded me of the time when I drank the potion.

Power is a dangerous thing.

Light seeped from his pores, consuming him.

He gave one last scream of pain and then his whole body turned to dust.

The rain stopped now, it all happened so abruptly. I had thought the fight would have been harder, more…physical, but it shows that you don’t have to be powerful physically to win the fight, but it was the mind and the soul that truly mattered.

The black dust that was their father formed up again and got carried away by the wind.
It was over now.

The orange glow that was Kier’s soul flew towards him and dissolved into him.

Kier had his soul back now.

He was happy, he didn’t need me after all.

We all didn’t know what to say.

I felt that there was nothing to be said.

I turned back towards the castle.

"Rose…" it was a faint call, but I still heard it.

I turned slightly.

Kier.

"Don’t leave Rose…please, let us talk."

I laughed harshly, "Why? You’ve gotten what you want, you don’t need me anymore." I started towards the castle, "I have nothing more to say to you."

That was it.

I walked away from him, but…I couldn’t help but feel that I left my heart with him."

***************************************
I looked up and saw Kier’s father standing above me.
My eyes widened in shock.

"You’re…You’re supposed to be…"

"Dead?" he said, "Yes, it’s funny how these things work themselves out. You destroyed my body Guardian, not my soul and now that this one is dead, it will be impossible to even ‘try’ to destroy me again." He gave a quick snap of his fingers. Suddenly people came pouring through into the dungeon. There were so many of them and what shocked me the most was that they were ordinary people, everyday people you saw on the streets, not henchmen or deadly mercenaries, but people.

Humans.

Their eyes were red, they were under his control.
I heard voices, familiar ones.

I saw Kurt, Gabriel and Theo being dragged in. Hands bound and mouths gagged. "Throw them in the cell with Drake and drag that Kier in as well."

The people nodded and began to do so. I didn’t struggle, I knew it would be useless, I was outnumbered. I would save my strength for latter.

When they closed the bars on us. I knew we were goners, we were trapped and Kier was dead. There was no way we could get out of here now.

I looked down at Kier’s pale face and tears welled up in my eyes all over again. If only I had been there sooner, then maybe…just maybe...he would be alive. I cried all over again sobbing on his chest shaking him again and again, hoping uselessly that he would breathe again, that he was just asleep. But I knew he wasn’t, I couldn’t feel his heartbeat anymore. The warmth from him was fading.

There was no one to comfort me, no one to say, "It’ll be alright".

I just couldn’t believe it, it happened so fast, one minute I knew he was alive and the next…he was gone, lost to a world I could never reach.

Suddenly, I heard a muffled sound and looked up, Gabriel was looking at me, then darted his eyes behind me, struggling to move.

That’s when I heard it. A single word.

"Rose?"

I turned around and Kier was standing there. Looking as alive as ever.

I laughed and threw myself at him, but just collided with the wall.

Stunned I looked back up at him, he was still there.

This Kier looked over to his dead body, and that’s when I realised it. There were two of them…which meant this Kier was…

"Oh no…." I whispered and gently reached out to him, only to have my hand travel through him, "you’re a ghost aren’t you?"

He nodded sadly, "It all happened so fast, they blew a hole through the side of the castle and came swarming in. I was…I was talking to Kurt and when they came… I remember….I remember being afraid, not for me," he turned to look at me, "but for you. Then….then I remember feeling pain, a lot of pain in my back and front, but all that mattered was getting to you and then I….then I woke up, but I wasn’t in my body." He cast his eyes down, "Forgive me Rose, if I had got to you sooner, I could have gotten you out of here."

I laughed hysterically at that, "You’re the one that’s dead and you’re apologizing?!"
My laughter turned into tears again, so now Kier was with me but…I would never be able to hold him again….to touch him…to kiss him. As I cried he didn’t hold me, he couldn’t, but instead offered words of reassurance, "It’ll be okay Rose."

"You’re dead Kier! How can it be okay?!" I shouted.

"Hey! Keep it down in there!" a man came towards us and looked into the cell, "Who’re you talking to?"
I looked at Kier and then back at the man. He couldn’t see him.

"N-no one…" I whispered.

He grunted then turned away.

"He can’t see you. Why can I?" I asked him quietly.

"We are bonded, and even in death a bond is strong enough to withstand it. I am bound to my brothers in blood, so they can see me as well." He replied.

"Is there anyway that I can…that I can make you alive again? I mean, I have powers I could use, just tell me what to do and I’ll-"

"There’s no way Rose. I’m sorry,"

I felt like crying again.

"There is one way," Drake said quietly.

He was so silent I had forgotten he was there.

"Quiet Drake," Kier warned him softly.

"What? There’s a way? Tell me," I insisted.

"NO!" Kier roared.

"It’s her choice Kier, what would you do if it the situation was reversed?"

"That’s different," he growled defiantly.

"It always is," Drake replied.

"Just tell me what I need to do!" I nearly shouted.

Drake said two simple words, "Soul transference."

I could feel my eyes widen. Of course, Kier had done it once, or…had at least TRIED to do it with his mother once. It was either that or nothing.

I nodded, "Tell me what I need to do."

"Place your hands on his chest, then channel your energy…it’s difficult to explain but you….you let go of your inner self. What I suggest you do after the soul transference, is that you two complete your blood bond, that way it will make sure that the soul stays intact with Kier’s body."

I went over to Kiers body and placed my hands over his chest. I breathed slowly, his body was still faintly warm, I was running out of time. I gathered all of my power and then….
Let go.

I let the love for him that I felt loose, I let all my being flow into him, Kier started to glow brighter and so did his body.

"Rose…" he said uncertainly.
Brighter and brighter he glowed still.

I felt it, a part of me transfused with Kier’s body, he grew warmer and warmer. I could touch the ghost Kier now, I was his anchor, a way back into his body. He took my hand and I led him back into his body, transfusing a part of my soul and his together.

We were one.

He started breathing again.

He was alive.

Kier got up, "Rose?"

I hugged him tightly. Yes, yes, yes, he wasn’t dead, I was still with him.

"It’s not over yet," Drake said, "Finish the blood bond now."

Kier softly growled at him, "I don’t have to listen to you."

"Don’t Kier, he’s not bad, he was trying to protect us."

Kier stayed avoided looking at me, "Whatever his reasons, he still put you in danger. We’ll talk about this later."

We stayed silent, "You’ll have to do it one day you know," I said to Kier.
It was getting really cramped in the jail cell now. The other brothers were bloodied and bruised, Theo was unconscious and so was Kurt. Gabriel could barely keep his eyes open, while Drake just kept silent nearly this whole time.

"I know. But I don’t want to," he said.

Those words hit me like a whip I tried to keep a poker face but…I couldn’t.
"No, no, no Rose, it isn’t that I don’t love you, it’s just that…if I’m ever in any danger, I want to know that you’ll still be safe, that you’ll still live, even though I won’t. Please Rose, we can have a life together, but I just don’t want…."

I silenced him with a kiss, "Please Kier?"

He sighed, "Fine, but not now."

"Why not now?"

He lifted my chin up so that I had to look into his eyes, "You only get to say these sacred words once, and I want them to be said when we aren’t not in any danger, I want it to be romantic for you. It’s SUPPOSED to be a romantic moment."

I gave him a speculative glance, "Okay….but if you back out, I walk."

He pulled me again his chest, "There’ll be no chance of that happening."

I sighed happily. I was disgusted with myself, here we were, trapped in a dirty, damp, cold jail cell with his battered brothers and yet…and yet I couldn’t really picture myself being anywhere else. I guess that’s what love does to you.

I don’t know how long we stayed there, but…I was content at that moment, having Kier hold me in his arms…to know that he was alive again.

"I do have one question though, what were you talking to Kurt about?"

He tensed, and I knew I wasn’t going to like the answer, "I was….I was going to let you be his fiancé."

"What?!" I yelled.

"I said to keep it down in there, or I’ll gag you!" came the angry voice from out side.

I turned my furious eyes on Kier, "By law, he’s right, now, that he’s the oldest, he….he’s king, and I never really did propose, so….so by right you are his fiancé."

"You were…you were just going to let me go?!" I was furious with him.

He shook his head, "That’s what I went to talk to Kurt about, we were discussing, you being with me when…." He waved his hand around, "all of this happened.

"So you were just going to let me go. Do I really mean that little to you?"

"NO! Of course not!" he gathered me in his arms, "I love you, but your safety comes first, if you were, or pretended to be engaged with Kurt….then….then you’d be safe." He lowered his head, "He has the power of darkness."

I was just about to respond when a woman came to unlock the jail cell. Her eyes were glowing red.

"Master wants you," She said.

We were roughly hauled to our feet and shoved upstairs. The place was in ruin.

Chairs were destroyed, tables over turned and debris lay everywhere. Black vines covered the walls, making it looked like it was being swallowed up.

They led us to a large room. I don’t know what room it was because all the black vines covered the walls. It was so dark.

Their father stood in the middle of the room, his back to us.

He turned around and his eyes widened when he saw Kier.

"You’re supposed to be dead!" he hissed.

"So are you," he replied, "Now Gabriel!" he shouted.

With an anguished cry he summoned up is power and created a wind barrier between us and his father.
The brothers quickly joined hands and I stood in the middle.

"I call wind to this circle!" Gabriel said.

"I call fire to this circle!" said Kier.

"I call earth to this circle!" yelled Theo.

"I call water to this circle!" cried Drake.

"I call darkness to this circle," finished Kurt.

I clasped both my hands above my head, "I call spirit to this circle!" I yelled.

Suddenly, a single line of thunder came clashing through the clouds into me, becoming me. I was filled with raw power and the sphere that contained the 5 elements came washing through me. I absorbed it, moulded it to my will. The familiar rush of power was exhilarating. I craved every second of it.

I felt it, I felt more powerful than before, it wasn’t just the darkness that intensified my powers, it was Kier. The anger I had felt for him before had been replaced by love.

The air barrier disappeared and so had Kier’s father.

A harsh laugh echoed throughout the room.

"I’m not going to fall for that this time…" he hissed.

We looked all around us. Sparks flew from me, like electricity.

"I’m going to kill each one of you vermin,"
Suddenly, from out of the shadows, something lunged at Kurt, "I thought you were the perfect son, turns out I grabbed the wrong one!" he threw him across the room and I heard the sickening crunch of his bones breaking. He coughed out blood.

The father had disappeared again, we were disadvantaged now that it had turned dark. I saw something move, without thinking I lashed out at it. My hands clawed at nothing I stood up in surprise.

"Nope, I’m over here," I turned around and saw him behind Drake.

"NO!" I screamed.

He grabbed him by the neck and Drake started yelling in pain, muffled sounds, but I could see the anguish he was in by the look on his face.

"I won’t let you!" I channelled my energy to him. Electric sparks absorbed itself into the father’s body.
He convulsed and let out a scream.

"Not this time!" he hissed.

It happened so fast, I didn’t even know what I was doing, he lunged for Kier, while throwing Drake in the opposite direction to where his ‘servants’ were. I instinctively threw myself in front of Kier, without thought.

"Rose, NO!"

I grabbed his father’s hand, "You want power? You got it!" I shot my energy through to him. He screamed again. The electric shock going through him made hi convulse and shake terribly. Blood came out from his eyes. It was a sickening sight.

"If I’m dying, I’m taking you with me!" With a last cry, his last strength, he grabbed me and plunged into the nearest stone wall, dragging me with him.

Me and his father flew to the back wall, crunching it badly, putting a two meter hole into it. The stones fell on us.

Darkness over took me.

It hurt.

Everywhere hurt so much.

So I wasn’t strong enough….not in the end….

Stones were being lifted off me.

There was a weight on my chest, a huge crushing weight.

I couldn’t breathe.

I heard voices, muffled voices, then shouts and fighting. But I couldn’t hear what they were saying, it hurt way too much.

Suddenly the weight was replaced by pain, a huge crushing pain, I couldn’t move, breathing even hurt.
I couldn’t see anything, it was too bright.

"Rose…please….no…"

As my eyes adjusted to the sight. I saw an angel leaning down on me….so beautiful….the tears he wept were so beautiful…

I gave a weak smile. I was fading…fading from the world….

Fading from Kier….

****************************
I woke up with bandages over my whole body. It hurt to move….

"She’s awake!"

Kier came to my side immediately, "Rose, my precious flower…"

He gently took my hand and pressed soft gentle kisses on it.

I saw the whole family, Gabriel, Kurt, Theo…

"Where’s Drake?"

At that question, Kier’s face instantly closed off…
I took in all of their apparel, most of them had at least one bandage on their face and scrapes along their arms.

"He’s….he’s been captured Rose, by my father’s followers," he closed his eyes, "They say that once they have the information he can give them, they’re going to execute them…mean while they….he’s being…"
Hot tears splashed on my face, as my own started to develop.

"He’s dead?" I whispered.

""""""Will you be my first…? Will you be the first to kiss me?""""""""

I wept at the memory, I couldn’t even grant his wish….

""""""Save it for someone special….It’ll mean so much more…."""""""

And for the first time, in a long time…all of us…including the brothers….

Wept.

*************************
Epilogue

It was the day of Drake’s funeral.

I was dressed in a simple black dress with a veil covering my eyes.

We all walked down to the garden.

It started to rain, as if the sky itself was mourning.

"""""""""""""’"I did what I had to do."
But that’s the thing!" I said. "I know what you did, but I can’t help…can’t help but thinking that you did it…did it to protect me. All of us."
"Stop thinking I’m so damn honorable," he bared his fangs. "I’m not."
I smiled wryly, "Would a less honourable man have admitted that?"""""""""""""""""""""’

There was a cross….no casket….no body, but we knew….sooner or later, he would be killed.

"""""""""""""’"I believe in you Drake," I whispered, "I believe that you are still the sane person I know and love."
"Love," he spat out the word as if it were dirty. "You love me? Then how come you do not embrace me, kiss me like you do with Kier?"
"I’m…I’m sorry Drake, I didn’t realize that you felt that-"
I’d always wondered, always wanted to know, what it would be to love someone and have them love me back. That same…powerful love you and Kier share. I’ve always wanted to know what it would be like to hold, to cherish, to feel…"""""""""""""""""""""""

With silent tears, I placed my rose on top of the earth, not before kissing it gently.

""""""""""""Drake…I…I don’t love you…that way." I stammered.
He dropped his hand, "I know Rose, and I don’t expect you to. I’m not in love with you, but I just want to….feel." he gave a harsh laugh, "After all these years, immortal as I am, I have never felt emotions, and I ‘want’ to feel. I ‘want’ to feel what you and Kier share. I want to experience it," he touched his lips delicately with his fingers, "I haven’t even kissed anyone yet."
"I’ve always scared them away. I’ve always scared myself. I’m just so…ready. I ready to give that love I have in me, but the other girls…the women before, they’ve just been scared." """""""""""""""""""""’

The brothers did the same, and we all joined hands.
We stayed silent.
It was Kurt who was the first to speak, "I didn’t really know him that well, and yet I feel as if I’ve known him my whole life. But no matter what, even if I didn’t know him he is still, and always has been my brother."

""""""""""""""Love is a powerful thing."
"I have one…just one favour I would like to ask you. I’m…I’m not ‘bad’ despite what you think. I just…will you be my first? Can you be the first to kiss me?"""""""""""""""""’

"He was a good leader, a great thinker," Theo said.

""""""I touched his lips…""""""""

"He was a cherished brother and an even more valued friend…." Said Kier.

"""""""""""I closed my eyes then leaned in and kissed him.
"Why-?"""""""

"He was a brother bound by blood, and a comrade bound by heart," said Gabriel.

"""""" "Save it for someone special." "It’ll mean so much more." """""""""""

I nodded in agreement.

"""""""Why didn’t you tell me before? Any of us before it got to this?"
"I’m sorry Rose I tried my best, I tried to warn you. I thought I was strong enough." """"""""

"He was one of the strongest people I knew," I said.

And that was it…with a final moment of silence we all headed back to the castle.

**********
Back in Kier’s chambers, I removed my veil and we just stood there looking at each other. I didn’t know where the tears came from, but they clouded my vision and before I knew it, I was in Kier’s arms, his warmth giving me comfort.

I had cried so much during these past few weeks and months…and not just because of Drake.

"Tonight," I said, "I want to finish the bond tonight."

Kier tensed for a moment, then relaxed.

"As you wish little flower," he said with a kiss on top of my head.

I went down to Drake’s grave again and just stared silently.

"I hope…that you will rest in peace and that I’m sorry that I couldn’t grant your wish and if you should survive, that...you find what you’re looking for. I’ll never give up hope for you Drake."

That night I walked up to Kiers…our room.

I knocked softly and entered. It was empty.

"Kier?" I softly whispered.

"Out here," he called.

I went out onto the balcony and gasped.

A thick velvet quilt was laid down, candles covered the sides and flowers adorned the whole of the set.

I looked at Kier, and he grinned, "I promised I’d make this romantic for you."
I blushed and sat down on the quilt.

He took me into his arms.

"You’re sure Rose?" he whispered against my hair.

I nodded, "So very sure."

He turned me to face him and he placed a hand upon my heart and guided mine to his.

He took a knife and gently pricked the middle of his palm and did the same for me. We clasped each others hands.

We touched foreheads.

"If darkness comes to claim me,
May you be my light
If illness should fall upon you,
I’ll be bound to you day and night
If judgment comes upon me,
May it be my fate for yours
And if death comes for me,
May it be my life for yours.

I give myself to you."

I repeated the words back to him.

And at that moment, as the last word left my lips…I knew I was his.

He held me tightly to his chest and we both looked up into the night sky.

Though Drake was gone…..

At that moment.

That very moment.

I felt complete.

I was his.

He was mine,

No more fears,

No more doubts

No more secrets,

No more lies,

Love.

Just love….

"If darkness comes to claim me,
May you be my light
If illness should fall upon you,
I’ll be bound to you day and night
If judgment comes upon me,
May it be my fate for yours
And if death comes for me,
May it be my life for yours.

I give myself to you."

The end.

Okay guys, I really do hope you liked my ending, even though if Drake did get captured. But….I just felt as though it was something that had to be done. Please don’t hate me, because this ending…I feel as though it’s the start of another story….you’ll see what I mean.

As always, I hoped you have enjoyed this series, and thank you for reading them, it has been a pleasure to write for all of you.

Now, as this story, closes, I am thinking on my next. Here Are my ideas….please read and comment. I’ve added two more since the last time.

Excerpt:

"You’re the angel that saved me,"

She was so close to the painting, she could almost feel it. She whipped around.

Damn, the guy cleaned up good, bloodied and mal-nourished as he was when she found him…this was definitely an improvement.

His thick dark hair fell on his eyes….which were a striking blue. A tall lean frame, with the broadest shoulders she had ever seen.

She was a vision, Drake thought, long blonde hair fell to her waist and reflected off the sunlight, as if she had a halo, that’s when he felt it, the one feeling he had been denied his whole life, but…she wasn’t here for him, as he had hoped… his eyes narrowed on the painting she was touching "What are you doing?"

"I…I…" Savannah stammered. She’d never been caught before, she was just too good. She backed towards the window she had come from.

He started towards her, "Don’t leave, take the painting if you must, but promise me you’ll come back."

Savannah shook her head.

He straightened, "Then, I’m sorry, but I can’t let you leave."

In a flash he stood behind her, blocking her only escape root. Damn that super-fast vampire speed he had.

"We need to talk," he said in that sweet, charming voice of his.

Yeah…talk, he was going to probably lock her in the dungeon, for all she knew.

Bringing up her fist, she tried to knock him out, it didn’t matter how hot the guy looked, she needed to get out.

But the vampire was fast, he dodged, but was momentarily taken aback from her action. She saw the advantage and used it, she pushed past him and dived for the window. She was on the ledge, when his strong hand snapped up to grab her hand. He pulled her towards him, but she kept a firm hand on the window frame. Both feet on the window, balancing her.

"Don’t leave angel…" he whispered.

He was so close….so tantalizing close and those lips of his…

She laughed lightly, "Trust me vampire, I’m no angel."

Drake’s heart sped up at the sound, it was just so lovely. He could feel her pulling back, but he didn’t want to lose her, so he did the only thing he could think of….

He kissed her.

Hate that I love you:

They were exact opposites, she came from the angels and he, from the dark world below. Yet…you know what they say…the opposites attract.

She was raised among a coven, one that protected the humans from evil.

He, was made into a creature of darkness…the blood of the tainted flows within his veins.

They lived in two separate worlds…but they were bound to meet again…

Their paths are entwined….

Their fates interlocked

She would do anything to protect the world she loved

Even if she had to die.

But he would willingly burn in hell for eternity…

For just one night in her arms

Excerpt:

"You know you’re not supposed to be here," Destiny said.

"I know," he replied.

He walked over to her, "I’ll do what I have to do, then I’ll leave."

He lifted a strand of her hair.

"You know it’s forbidden by your kind to touch one like me, the consequences of them finding out is severe."

He leaned in closer, "I know…but you know what Destiny?"

He breathed against her lips, "I just don’t care…"

A Slayer like me wears designer clothing.

Excerpt:

I picked up the little black book.

His book.

"Damian Black
One of the most feared vampires.
Avoid contact at all cost."

I knew that….don’t you see how much I knew that already…

But what it didn’t say was how attractive or seductive he was. He could caress a girl’s hair with his hands, make her feel special, but in the next instant end a life with them.

He was lethal, in more ways than one.

Memories came back to me, and I stood on the field as a child of twelve.

Why do you hate me Danny?"

"I don’t hate you…"

"Then don’t leave me! You’re supposed to stay with me! Please! If…if you stay with me…I’ll promise you won’t regret it…everyday will be fun! Don’t go! I….I love you more than anything!"

He turned slightly towards her, "You’re just an ignorant child… you have no idea what I can do. If you were smart you’d stay away from me."

Then he started to walk away, "No Danny!"

I closed my eyes as tears threatened to fall

"I don’t care about you Damian," I said out loud. Wanting myself to believe it as well, I needed to know that I didn’t care about him.

But for some reason….I just didn’t care.

I never did.

Next time I saw him, I was going to kill him.

"I’ll kill you if I ever see you again…" I vowed.

Suddenly, the wind picked up and my senses heightened.

"I’m hurt ‘cara’, I really am."

Damian….

Lucinda Night is a Child of the darkness, having witnessed the slaughter of her family right in front of her very eyes as a child, she was saved by a vampire called Damian Black, who then turned her. Having a child-hood crush on him, she adored him and worshiped him. Being an experience hunter himself, he taught Lucinda to fight and defend herself. He trained her to fight and to protect…

Until the one night that changed everything.

Damian Black is the High Prince of the Vampires, at least he is now… but every night he couldn’t shake of the memory of the lone child Lucinda he loved and who had grown into a woman. They soon meet again, but on tense circumstances. He wants her back…in his house and in his life.
He’d do anything to get her back, but even as their love grows Lucinda’s past threatens to come back to haunt them both. The only question is…. Will they both live through it? Because there’s a force….a force strong enough to destroy the world….

No Kiss No Tell/Just one Kiss:

I don’t just see ghosts

I see faeries.

These aren’t your ordinary small, cute tiny fairies you want to keep as a pet.

No, these are dark seductive ones.

They’re powerful and they’re addictive.

Because….one kiss…it only takes one and that lead to addiction and soon…you can’t bear to be apart from them and when you are apart, your body craves the magic they have…and when you don’t have it, you grow insane….

They have an air of magic that lures you to them and keeps others away,

And if you’re not careful…

You might just fall for one.

Jean-Luc Champion is a Faerie, and not just any faerie, he’s the high prince. The most seductive of them all.

Geneva Livy is a seeker. She sees what the human eye cannot, she needs the information he has, but the question is….what will she give in return for it?

Excerpt:

He walked-no, glided towards me,
"What will you give me in return?"

I wet my lips in thought, I had money, I had unlimited amount of things, "Anything you want."

He lifted my chin up and I looked into those dark eyes of his.

"Anything?"

"Of course, I have unlimited access to anything you want, money, artefacts…anything."
His lips curved into a smile, I swallowed heavily.

He leaned down to my ear, his breath hot on my neck, "All I want….. is just one kiss…."

So please, please, please comment on what you thought about this last chapter, and what you thought of this series as a whole. I love to hear your feed back. Tell me which story you’d like me to start on first, I’ve got a lot of inspiration this time.

I’d also like to thank those who gave suggestions for the title "A Slayer Like Me," you’ve given me a lot of ideas, so thanks Rachelle H!

It might be a while, before I write again, but I may post some one-shots and some extras on A Dark Pursuit. I’ve got a lot of exams coming up that I’ll have to study for. Sorry! But you know how school is.

So please, comment about this last chapter and just give me the story name of which you’d like me to start of first, then second, then third, etc.

As always, I hoped you like this chapter.

Happy reading!
