Hello all! hope you enjoy the story! :P

Dark Obsession (3)

Swearing, Savannah had to call upon the shadows and plunge the room into darkness. Savannah stuck close to the shadows, one single spot of darkness was enough for her to blend in, it didn’t matter how small it was, but as g as there was a shadow, she could blend into it.

She went towards Drake, a bleeding and half-conscious and began to untie the knots holding his arms and legs restrained. Drake fell heavily, knocking the breath out of her. Wow, how much did this man weigh? He was packed full of muscle, not an ounce of fat on him Savannah mused.

Savannah used all her strength to help him into the shadows.

They would be here a while she thought, it would take careful planning to get out of here undetected, once they realized Drake wasn’t where he was meant to be, all havoc would be lose. They wouldn’t be moving anytime soon, Savannah thought, so she just wrapped her arms tightly around Drake and waited.

Drake’s eyes flew open as the smell of flowers invaded his senses. A warm body pressed up against his cold, beaten and battered one. It was the angel, the girl he had been dreaming about in his dreams. She was here, she was saving him.

The door unlocked, a few clicks of the light switch were heard and then light flooded the chamber.

He heard the devoutes shuffling about the room. Odd, he mused darkly, they could not see him…

"Tyr don’t understand what happened mistress. Tyr is saddened and implores your forgiveness mistress…"

"Oh shut up you old fool," the mistress snapped.

Drake winced at the sound. Her voice was as harsh and as cruel as the damned night.

He turned his eyes to prettier sight.

His savior.

His angel.

"Name…?" his voice cracked. His throat was dry from no water or fluids.

Savannah looked at Drake and her eyes widened when she saw crystal blue eyes staring back at her through swollen lids.
"Savannah…" she whispered.

"I am in your debt Savannah, I am forever…grateful…" Drake was resigned. He wouldn’t mind dying in her arms. He knew so little about her, and yet he felt as though he had known her his whole life. To be at peace in her arms…was something special. Something to be cherished.

"Don’t die on me now Drake," Savannah whispered fiercely.

Her managers were going to be furious with her. She looked back at Drake, at his gorgeous blue eyes. His mouth twisted in what was supposed to be a smile, but he winced instead because of his bloodied lip.

"I’m going to get out of here," she vowed.
Drake’s eyes flickered toward the chamber.

He whispered to her, "The chances of you making it out with me are slim, if you cannot I beg you to…to end it…" he was losing consciousness fast. Bringing his arms up he wrapped her strongly in his bloodied embrace.

Savannah’s heart was pounding now. What type of girl had pleasure of being held by a tortured, bleeding man?

As the mistress and devoute left. She dragged him out of the shadows. She never liked being in the light, it made her feel naked, exposed, vulnerable. Drake was heavy, not an ounce of fat covered this man. He was all cold hard muscle.

Savannah was sweating now, she’d never done a rescue mission before, nor did she have the upper body strength to carry him. What did he mean by ‘end’ it? Before she could ponder it, she opened the door, to see two devoutes guarding it.

They were startled when they saw her, then hissed at her intrusion. She slammed the door shut.

"Crap!" She thought, that was stupid of her. She locked the door, then lay Drake down gently near the back of the room, she locked the chamber. They were banging against the door, the lock would give way soon. Searching around the chamber, she took an old table, the one that the Devoute had laid the food on and pushed it heavily against the door. They were trapped.

"The beast is escaping!!" the devoute shrieked on the other side.

Savannah didn’t know what to do, it was fighting for a lost cause now.

She couldn’t save him, he was too big, and she too small. She couldn’t carry him.

She couldn’t save him.

She could hear more devoutes running towards their room.

"Where is the beast?" one devoute hissed.

"He is in there with the thief, she is trying to free him." Said the other.

"We must call the mistress!" another shouted.

She knew she wasn’t going anywhere with Drake, he was too heavy for her to carry.

More movement could be heard outside the chamber door. She was definitely too late now. She couldn’t save him, but she wouldn’t let him be a victim of their torture any longer.

She stared into those blue eyes that stared back unflinchingly back at her. "End it…" he’d said. The realization crept down her spine like ice. Could she do it? Could she not do it? She looked up above, there was a small crack, a shadow she could hide in until the devoutes went away. She could not take him, however.

Nor could she leave him as a subject to their torture.

Standing tall, she took the knife she had always strapped to her thigh. He seem to know her resolve. Savannah begged him through her eyes, pleaded for him to understand, to forgive her for what she was about to do.

"I’m sorry Drake," she whispered, a tear escaping her eye. The door was banging heavily now, she could hear their claws scraping at the wood, the inhuman sounds of their transformation. Suddenly, the door burst opened. Savannah took her knife from her thigh and rammed it into Drake’s chest. Into his heart.

Savannah held back a sob as she wrenched it back out and turned to face the devoutes. Bringing her arm around, she slashed one of their throats and kicked another in their stomach. Savannah dripped with cold sweat, there were too many, she wasn’t practiced in self-defense for she never got caught.

Just as she was about to disappear into the shadows, the devoutes paused. Their eyes wide and fearful. A surge of triumph came over Savannah, but it quickly dissolved as she realized that they were not afraid of her…they were afraid of what was behind her.

As all was silent, she could hear the soft growls behind her, "Drake…" the name fell frozen on her lips. She whipped around, but there was no Drake to be seen.

In his place, was a 7 foot wolf in his place.

Aw, crap.
