A Creative God
Many people see God as a rigid, somber and heavy God. It is like He hates it when we enjoy life, when we enjoy nature and things around us. Well this is wrong and it is incorrect to have this perspective on God because He didn't give us any reasons to think this way. Instead, He speaks loud and clear about one of His attributes: His creativity.
However, a better known reality for the majority of us is our planet, the Earth. It is amazing how God combined all details in such a way that we enjoy a very good quality of life here. A few more degrees closer to the sun and our planet would be dry and lifeless; a few more degrees away from the sun and the planet would be covered in ice.
The coverage of the planet is spectacular: mountains and plains, hills and valleys, seas and rivers. Monotony is something you cannot encounter in God's creation. When you get tired of the luxuriant vegetation of the tropics, you can have a glimpse of the deserts and the dry life within them, you can enjoy day and night, the moon and the sun, the stars above, the Niagara Falls, the Grand Canion, the tropical forests, the Red Sea, etc. Further on, there is a great variety of plants and animals, thousands and thousands of insects, colored birds. And above all these, the man that represents the crown of creation.
It is only when we take a close look at the complexity of our body that we can see the great creativity of God: billions of cells, sophisticated interdependent mechanisms, the microscopic DNA carrying within our genetic code and the necessary information for our body to work properly. Our entire organism is a miracle and specialists in the domain are aware and can tell how miraculously our body works, especially our brain, which controls the whole activity. Then God is creative by giving us a soul, feelings, conscience, and the ability to interact with other people.
Secondly, we can detect the inventively of God in the Scripture both at the semantic level and at the morphological one. In the Old Testament he gave some commandments for the Jewish people in order to build a strong society which has as an objective the praising of God and the love and respect of one another. Then in the New Testament God ingeniously provided a plan of salvation both for the Jew's and the gentiles. Throughout the whole Bible there are unique metaphors, useful proverbs, creative parables, novelty comparisons and an interesting mixture of styles: narrative, descriptive and even dialog. The beauty can be seen more accurately in the Hebrew manuscripts. For example, in Genesis, the first book of the Scripture (and not only there), narration is combined with poetry in order to emphasize some truths:
"God created man is His image,
In His image God created man,
Man and Woman God created."
Throughout these inversions God wants to show that man and woman are equal, and both are made after His own image. The whole Scripture if filled with such examples.
In addition, among the multitude of discovered facts God's creativity is seen in another thing worth mentioning: the music. It is written in the Bible that angels are singing praise to Him. This means that music was created in heavenly places and now men also benefit of it. Almost anyone is a music listener and most claim they do this in order to relax or to awaken their spirit.
Finally, it is well-known that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Now, everyone, maybe there are few exceptions, says that Earth is an amazing place which resides in beauty and grace. Also Scripture is proven to be true historically, scientifically and it is still applicable to this day and it will be forever because Jesus Christ is risen from the death. Check it for yourself and when you prove it wrong, let me know.
God is indeed a great artist from the depths of the ocean to the last star in the universe all declare the works of His Hands, when you know the Artist, you are fascinated!
