A Change Of Heart - Part 1

"You know nothing about me!" I continued yelling. "You’re only doing this because you don’t want your school’s reputation ruined! You don’t care, nobody cares! No one gives a shit about me!"
Seth’s POV

"Seth Cooper, come with me to my office this instant!" The principal screamed at me from a distance. It was lunchtime. I took one last glance at my victim. His nose was bleeding really bad and one of his eyes was squinted because of the black I gave him. People have gathered around us, and now they started whispering and pointing at me. Typical.

"Seth Cooper!" Mrs. Nichols yelled. I spit at the bruised body and made my way towards her. People made room for me to pass. As soon as, I got to the other side of the crowd, Mrs. Nichols grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me all the way down the hall to her office. Her long manicured nails dug in my skin. When she finally let go, she made me sit in the chair on the side of the room and wait. I couldn't believe it. She just dragged me all the way here just to make me wait?!

I was just about to get up and leave when she finally came out, with a new vest because her other one got stained from lunch.

"And where do you think you’re going, Mr. Cooper?" She asked me, her voice is sharp.

"Out of here," I replied. I was about to take a step forward when a sharp pain went up my arm. Mrs. Nichols had her fingernails at me again.

"Not so fast, Seth. Sit!" She ordered me. She released my arm and I sat down. I looked down and noticed nails marks on my skin. Doesn’t this bitch have more important things to deal with, like cutting her nails?!

"Mind explaining what happened there, Seth?" She inquired me, leaning against her desk.

"A fight, obviously," I said, raising an eyebrow. Can you blind enough not to see that? "Can I go now?"

"No!" She snapped. "Obviously Seth, it was more than that!"

I blew a raspberry at her reaction. "Well, if you seem to know more about this than I do, then I don’t see a reason why I should be here." I stood up and headed towards the door.

"I’m trying to help you, Seth," I heard her saying. I stopped mid-step.

"What?"

"I said, I’m trying to help you. You and your constant fighting isn’t going to get you anywhere."

"What can you do?" I said, slowly turning to face Mrs. Nichols.

"We could get you some help. Maybe we could get a counselor for yo-"

"No! I did that, and none of it worked!"

"We can always give it another try," she suggested. She took a seat behind her desk.

"I’ve been there and it’s all the same!" I said, raising my voice. I was getting really angry. "What do you know about me anyway?! Nothing, you know nothing!"

"No, Seth, it’s not true, I know your problems are -"

"My problems are too big for me too handle! It’s too big for you or anyone else to handle!" I slammed my hands on her table. She jumped away in shock. The administration office next door started calling out. "Mrs. Nichols, is everything okay?"

"You know nothing about me!" I continued yelling. "You’re only doing this because you don’t want your school’s reputation ruined! You don’t care, nobody cares! No one gives a shit about me!" I swiped my hands and pushed away a pile of paper on her desk. It went flying everywhere. Photo frames and paperweights crashed onto the floor. I kicked a chair and it tumbled across the room. The administration staff started gathering in. That’s when I took my leave, leaving Mrs. Nichols and the staff in a state of shock.

I stormed out of the room, slamming the door on my way out. I was pissed as hell. I stomped all the way to my locker. People stared at me as I stomped past them. I didn’t give a single glance at them. I fumbled with my locker combination and grabbed my backpack and slammed it shut. I was about to turn around when someone bumped into me.

"Watch it," I grumbled.

"Oh my God, I’m so sorry, I didn’t see you there," a soft voice said. I looked down and saw a girl with red hair.

"Jesus, are you blind or something?" I muttered gruffly under my breath.

"What?" The girl said, looking up at me at disbelief.

"You heard me," I said. "You’re lucky I spared you."

"Huh? What does that even mean?" She asked in confusion.

Well this just shows that she’s not from around here. I pushed past her and left. The girl stared at me like I was delirious.

Don’t worry, she’ll learn soon enough.
