A Brighter Dark
A random poem that I wrote while I was spacing out. Comment please?
For if the night gets bright,
Will you show me the light?
If there's a god up there,
In that place you say is heaven-
Would he allow
The rage plowing into this world?
The despair thrust upon our hearts?
Will it change?
Ghosts of the future swim in the past.
Always-
Looking Back.
Heads turning,
Bodies falling,
Spirits failing,
Eyes vacant.
The darkness in that place-
The one you say is hell,
Is it really so bad?
Is it much worse than this?
If the night gets bright,
Will the horrors be released?
Rape, murder, war
Are only just a few.
Are there things much worse?
Something else to truly hide from?
Some things that will wreck our sanity-
What we have left?
The missing god.
The sacred idol.
The symbol of hope.
The light in the dark.
The beacon of faith.
Is it all real?
How can it be?
Are we just a game
Children play?
Just in their imaginations?
And do the lights
We call our lives-
Just go out
As they move on,
To something better,
Bigger,
Brighter?
A game-
Nothing more
Will you show me the light?
If there's a god up there,
In that place you say is heaven-
Would he allow
The rage plowing into this world?
The despair thrust upon our hearts?
