A Big Change 1
This is a story I'm working on. The spelling and Grammar isn't perfect but I hope you like it. Please comment, so I know whether I should carry on with it. x x
Ellie cursed as she walked home after a long night out with her friends, the rain had just started to pour and the wind was howling, and as every girl knows, wearing a skirt in the wind is not a good idea. Walking very slowly whilst trying to hold on to some of her dignity by grabbing both sides of her skirt Ellie rounded the final corner to her house. The light in her mum’s room was still on which meant that she had stayed up worrying about her. Oh Great. After walking up the driveway and almost falling over, Ellie steadied herself on the wall and reached into her purse to look for her keys only to find that not only had she forgotten to take her phone with her tonight she had also forgotten her keys which either meant sleeping on the driveway or making her mum walk downstairs the open the door and give her an earful "what if I was asleep, what would you have done then?" This question seemed to come up more and more these days.
At this point Ellie realized that her life had become rather repetitive. At only 19 Ellie’s life now went: wake up, go to University, go out with friends and finally get home very late. Ellie’s love life was about as animated as a rock, every so often there would be a guy but with Ellie’s idea of the perfect man lingering in her head, it could only last for so long. As she answered her mum’s usual questions and swayed on her way to her room almost knocking a vase over on her way she considered whether it was possible to find true love or would life just consist of guys who were not quite right. Ellie snuggled up in her bed and waited for the next day to arrive.
Waking up to the loud voice of her mother was another thing Ellie was used to, but at 6 in the morning, this was different "Wake up you lazy cow". She rolled over to look her mother and saw that her bags were on the floor and the shelves in her room were empty. "Shit, mum why would you wake me up at 6?" Ellie said still considering the possibility that she was actually asleep. "I have had enough; you can’t use this house as a hotel any more. You are moving out" And with that Mrs Harlett walked down the stairs and started to put her shoes on "and I want you out by the time I get home" the door slammed and that was when Ellie realized she finally had a chance to start a fresh, she knew that if she stayed until her mum got home she would be forgiven, but something in her heart told her she shouldn’t keep living off her mum. She walked out of the door, bags in hand ready to move on, and made her promise to herself, she would never come back to this house.
It took about 10 minutes for Ellie to realize what she had done when she ran into her friend Hayley, Hayley was what men would call ‘hot’ she dressed in short skirts to show off her long legs and had a big chest. Everything Ellie wished she could have, Ellie was quite short, skinny and had flat chest. But for what she lost in looks she gained in brains. Hayley had to be the dumbest blonde Ellie knew, this was possibly the reason they were friends, they both had good and bad qualities.
"Since when do you wake up at 6 in the morning?" Ellie asked. "I haven’t even been home yet, I stayed round at Andy’s house after we went out last night". Andy was Hayley’s mega hot boyfriend he had light brown hair and stunningly blue eyes. He was part of an extremely rich family which lived in town and his parents owned a millionaires mansion. Of course it always confused Ellie that Hayley could get such a smart, rich, beautiful person but their relationship was brilliant and everything Ellie had ever wanted. "What’s with the bags anyway? Has your mum finally kicked you out?" she asked her voice sounding sympathetic.
"Ye I figured if I find a small place to live and get a job in town to pay for it" Ellie said looking at the ground embarrassed about her homelessness. "Cool so where are you staying until you find a place to live?" this was something Ellie overlooked when planning this morning, she was in trouble. Although she hated to lie to her friend she thought it would be the best idea, if there was anything Ellie really didn’t like it was to make people worry about her. "I’m staying at a friend’s house for a few days, you know Liz from our Media class" incidentally Liz was a very quiet girl who would never tell Hayley the truth."Oh yeah sounds like good fun. Andy’s having a party on Tuesday and said I should invite a few friends so if you feel up to dressing up and going to his place I’ll meet you at 7" Hayley said, she knew Ellie was a party person and ignoring the fact that just this morning Hayley had decided not to go to parties any more she answered with a simple "Yeah I’ll be there" and finally after saying their goodbyes Ellie rushed to catch her bus into town.
After searching for hours and hours for somewhere cheap to spend a night Ellie crouched in a doorway down an alleyway and slept rough. In the morning she ached, her back and neck were painful. She spent the next few days finding flats but the only one which was available to rent wouldn’t be ready for two weeks. She decided she would just have to sleep rough for a while.
Tuesday night was fast approaching and Ellie needed somewhere to hide her bags, after changing into a short, slinky black dress and heels she put her bags into a bush just around the corner from the mansion, it was unlikely anyone would be looking in the bush so it would all be safe there.
As Ellie walked up the road to the party she heard classical music. The Canon was playing her mum played this music to her when she was small, she quickly disregarded this and continued to walk until she reached the door. When she knocked on the door it was answered by Andy who looked her up and down and pulled a disgusted face. He was dressed in a suit with a bow tie, everybody else was in long ball gowns. "oh" exclaimed Hayley peeking out from behind Andy, "I thought i told you to dress up, I'm so sorry". Ellie was dressed for a club like party, but here she just looked sort of.... slutty.
Andy invited her in and she walked forward looking at the ground, she pulled her dress down wishing she could just cover herself up and just run away, but that would just draw even more attention. It was nice to be inside though and she kind of enjoyed the company. Ellie slouched over to the bar area, almost everybody in the room was staring at her. She ordered a archers and lemonade and watched everyone dancing two people in particular stood out. they were twins they both had medium length curly hair, there was only one way to describe these two people, they were beautiful people...
