A Beginning of a New Beginning (6)
Veronica finds herself in a difficult position.
I opened my eyes and saw Kyle looking at me. "You didn’t leave" I said with a smile. "What do you mean?" "Well, you left the first time, but you didn’t this time." Kyle laughed. "Well I had to get home or Tim would’ve gotten a fit. And if he finds us on the same bed together then he will get a fit." Kyle said sitting up. I nodded in agreement. I stretched before walking over to my closet. I took out some jeans and a green and black shirt.
Kyle was sitting on the bed, watching me. "Do you mind?" I say with a smile. "Oh my bad" Kyle says turning the other way. I roll my eyes. "Out!" I say laughing. Kyle groans and walks out. I lock my door and took a quick shower. When I was done changing, I went to the kitchen to eat some breakfast. Kyle was cooking some eggs with ham. "Yum…I’m starving." I said. Kyle smiled.
We took the plates with eggs to the table. We sat down and waited for Tim. I tried to not to look at my food because I could barley resist not eating it. Kyle chuckled. I glared at him. "You try being really hungry and have a delicious eggs with ham in front of you." I snapped. He rolled his eyes. "You think I’m not hungry?" He asked. I shrugged.
"What did you dream about last night that made you sweat?" Kyle asked, changing the conversation. I shrugged and didn’t answer. He looked at me suspiciously.
At that second, Tim came in on his wheel chair. He rolled in front of his plate then smiled at us. "Good Morning kids." He said. "Good morning." Kyle and I both said at the same time.
After we finished our food, there was a knock on the door. "I’ll get it." I said quickly getting up before Kyle could.
I smiled, walking toward the door. When I opened the door, my smile faded. It was Max. "Hey" He said with a smile, reaching for a hug. I backed away. "What are you doing here?" I snapped. "What do you mean?" I’m here to hang out with my favorite girl." He said, reaching for another hug. Again, I backed away.
How can he act like the thing last night never happened? "Leave" I hissed. He looked at me confused. "What’s your problem?" He asked. I looked at him in disbelief. "Hello! Last night, you threw me out of your house in the cold when I agreed not to ‘do it’ with you." I practically screamed. He kept looking at me confused. "I never saw you yesterday. Since my parents were gone I decided not to even bother coming over here because I knew Tim wouldn’t allow you to come over if it were just you and me at the house. So I went out with some friends, we had some drinks, and the next thing I knew, I was back home. I don’t remember seeing you once."
My eyes widened. "So you were drunk?" I asked in a whisper. At that moment Kyle came up behind me. He smiled at me but the smile faded when he saw Max. "What on earth are you doing here?" Kyle hissed. Max put his hands in the air in front of him. "Guys, what did I do?" Max demanded. Kyle took a step forward and glared at Max.
"Wait Kyle" I said. "So, you drank last night right?" I asked Max. He nodded, guilt flashing in his eyes. "Why, did I do something to you?" He asked looking worried. I bit my lips. "Just forget about it." I whispered. "What do you mean forget about it? He should no what he did!" Kyle yelled looking at me then back at Max. "You tried doing sex with her and when she said no, you literally threw her out of your house in the dark and cold!" Max eyes widened then he turned to me. "I’m so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so sorry! I didn’t know what I was doing! I won’t ever get drunk again, I promise! Please, forgive me, Veronica. I would never hurt you." Max apologized, nearly going into tears.
I couldn’t help but feel bad. He didn’t really mean to do those things last night, he was drunk. I bit my lips, not sure what to say.
I sighed. "It’s fine" I whispered. Max ran toward me and gave me a hug. I bit my lips once again.
I didn’t want to be with Max anymore, but I don’t know how to break up with him. Maybe in time, I’ll to start too really like him. It’s worth a try, isn’t it? What about Kyle? I really liked him, and it was obvious he liked me too, especially after the kiss. Maybe we’ll get over each other in time. But what if we don’t? I’m not so sure what’s next.
Backing away from the hug, I looked over at Kyle. He had his teeth clenched while glaring at Max.
"So are we still going out?" Max asked hopefully. Kyle stepped in between Max and I before I could answer. "Actually, we’re sort of together now." Kyle said. Max stared at me with wide eyes. "You are?" He asked. I opened my mouth but nothing came out. He looked back at Kyle. "Ok, let’s do this. We’ll both go out with her, and after a month, she’ll tell us who she likes best, and the other person will have to support that." Max said. My eyes widened. Kyle sneaked a glance at me and sighed. "Anything to get Veronica to know we belong together." Kyle agreed. Max rolled his eyes. They shook on it, without even asking my opinion.
