8 Show-stopping Ideas for American Idol Party Supplies, Games and Decorations
1. For invitations, make microphones out of card stock paper and on the front of the microphone write, "Are you the next American Idol? Come to __"s birthday party for your chance to perform!" On the back write the party details.
2. Decorate your American Idol table by putting a white and blue table cloth on it and put American Idol napkins by each plate. Use a microphone blow-up as your centerpiece.
3. Hang up white, blue and silver streamers and balloons around the party area. Hang CD's from the ceilings or walls.
4. Find a place in the room and make your own "stage" by arranging pillow cushions or cardboard in a large square. Purchase or borrow a microphone and karaoke machine.
5. Give your child and guests a chance to feel like they made it on American Idol. Give them each a song to sing and let them come up one at a time and preform. Have adults 18 or older be the judges. After each song is over, have the judges tell the children what they liked about the song. Also, have them give the child a score, 1-20. See what guest gets the highest score. That child could be the "next American Idol."
6. To awe your guests, bake a cake in the shape of a microphone, using black, grey, or white frosting.
7. American Idol "Record roll". Give each guest an old or blank CD and have them takes turns seeing how far they can roll the CD on it's side. The one whose CD rolls the furthest from the starting line wins a star noisemaker. Or place a target at the other end of the room and see who can come the closest to it.
8. Send your guests home with a smile by giving them an awesome American Idol party bag. Fill the bag with all your child's favorite treats and toys. You could also include boas, bling necklaces, "star" glasses or your child's favorite CD in the bag.
