5 Hot Tips for Teenage Birthday Party Games
Some teenagers may think, they are beyond playing games. However, these teenage birthday party games will provide them with hours of entertainment.
They will have so much fun with these games they will not even realize they are playing a game or with any luck a little bit of that girl or boy you once tucked snuggly in to bed at night might just peak out of their teenage bodies and enjoy the innocence of childhood again for a few magical hours.
Girls Only Games
For a girls only birthday party I suggest you drag out that old trunk full of dress-up clothes and have a fashion show! Relax, I am just kidding!
About Me
One of the best teenage birthday party games is a game that is all about the teen. You will need to make the questioner before the party. It’s very easy make a list of 20 questions about the birthday girl.
Some of the questions should be easy, in case not all the guests have been a part of the "group" since kindergarten. Hand out colorful gel pens (that they can keep) with the questionnaire. Set a timer for five or ten minutes and the girl who answers all the questions first or if time runs out whoever answers the most questions correctly wins and receives a small prize such as a nail polish or pair of earrings. The birthday girl should also fill out a questioner before the party, because they tend to change their minds often and their favorite movie at 9am may not be the same by 7pm!
Light as a Feather Stiff as a Board
One of the best teenage birthday party games for girls is silly but a lot of fun! It was one of my favorites as a teenage girl. There are a few variations for playing this game, I’m going to stick with the simple version.
One girl lays on the floor and another sits at her head and puts her hands under head for support and comfort. The rest of the girls split up and sit on the sides. They each place two fingers under her and repeat the saying "Light as a feather, stiff as a board" as they chant this they levitate (pick up) the girl with only their two fingers. While it seems silly it does actually work! I’m not sure how but I can attest to it first hand and it’s not very comfortable when the lifters realize they have actually lifted the girl off the ground and freak out and drop her! With that said I strongly suggest pillows, lots of pillows for a softer landing!
Boys Only Games
By nature boys tend to be more active than girls so you will need some teenage birthday games that will accommodate the energy level of a teenage boy.
Around the World Basket Ball
If you have a basketball hoop in your driveway your all set if not you need to make one.
Using a large embroidery ring and mesh material, just feed the material around the hoop and secure it. The handmade hoop is best used inside. Games they can play using the basketball hoop include Around the World - any version will work the premise of the game is for the teenage boy to make a basket while standing in a certain sport once he makes the basket he moves to the next spot the first one to finish wins. Ideally having five shooting positions will make the game last a while unless you have the basketball team over!
Girls and Boys Games
If the teenage birthday party is co-ed then get out the karaoke machine and have a singing or lip syncing contest. A dance a-thon, partner competition or dance-off is also a great idea. Anything that will keep the teenagers moving and grooving.
Teenage birthday party games do take a little thought and preparation but it’s well worth it!
