Shadow

When love transcends space and time.
He stared into the mirror
Trying to find his face
The only thing that stared back
Was her shadows trace

Moonlight entered the room
Along came the breeze
Her shadow moved across the wall
He fell down on his knees

The dim lit candle flickered
And swayed along the wind
He looked towards the wall
Where her picture was pinned

A tear rolled down his face
Followed by some more
Her shadow moved swiftly
From the window to the door

A year had gone by since winter
And winter it was again
Still clear in his memory
Was all the hurt and pain

She had died in his arms
Clutching on to him
The world moved too quickly
Lights from bright to dim

Now he sat there staring
At her shadow bare
She kept her promise and came back
Every single day, there

Her shadow sat across the floor
Silently looking at him
Watched him as he looked at her
His face empty and grim

He got up from the floor
And lay down on their bed
Her shadow followed n lay beside him
More alive than dead

He turned around to face her
And felt her spirit close
This was their beautiful secret
That no one else knows

He put his arms around her
And embraced her shadow again
He closed his eyes and tried to sleep
Waited for a new day to begin
