Breaking Free

A short poem I wrote about the relationship between my mother and me. Please keep in mind that I'm only 14 and this is my first poem.
I try each day
I live each night
Begging to please
Knowing we値l fight

You never stop and listen
You never try to meet
It has to be you way
Or else all Hell will freeze

Why can稚 you understand
That who I am is me
And you can never change
What has come to be

When I try to say I知 free
When I try to speak my mind
I知 shot down from above
You never could be kind

One day, though, you値l see
How far I致e really come
And even then you値l say
I am still too dumb

I believe in me
I know what I can do
And one day I値l try
To make you see it too

Until this day has come
I値l sit here, nice and calm
And think of ways to say
How much I hate you, Mom
Was this good for my first poem?
Sure
Not really
Practice makes perfect
