5 Strategies to Protect Your Positive Energy in a Negative World
It can be a challenge to remain positive in a negative world. We are bombarded by images and thoughts of worry, lack, stress and fear. Common talk centers around what is wrong with the world and what is wrong in our lives. We are deeply affected by the negativity that surrounds us... So, what do you do when you really want to create your own personally positive world? What do you do when even your friend succumb to negativity?
One of my clients asked me how I keep my positive outlook when there are so many negative people everywhere. Just as I use sun block lotion in the summer to protect my precious skin from harmful UV rays, I use tools to protect my precious energy from negative vibes from others.
Because I love summer, I spend a lot of time in the sun. My regular daily routine of protecting my skin allows me to move around at will, feeling safe and warm. Because I love people, I spend a lot of time in groups. My regular daily routine of protecting my positive attitude allows me to move around at will, feeling connected and happy.
You can decide to have a positive attitude, and protect it too. Simply make a conscious decision to take a few steps to protect it every day, no matter what.
1. Accept that you are solely responsible for attaining and maintaining your positive aspect. No one else can do it for you and if you don't do it, you will certainly experience the consequences.
2. Know what you are about. Once you have committed to growing as a positive person, cynical people and negative situations will be less likely to affect you. In fact, you will find fewer and fewer negative circumstances and people showing up at all.
The Law of Attraction states that you get what you focus on whether you want it or not, so by deliberately being positive, you will attract positive energy, people, circumstances and events.
3. Start each day by affirming your intentions to add your positive energy to the world. When you deliberately proclaim your intent to enjoy your day and look at the world through eyes of appreciation and positive expectation, you tip the balance of positive energy in your favor. You will automatically enjoy more compassion, love, appreciation and joy.
4. Decide to be authentic. You are unique and unrepeatable. Allow the world to appreciate your special expressions. Express your style in your manner of dress, speech, humor, opinions. Following along like a sheep benefits no one. Emerson said that we are here to enjoy a unique relationship with the universe. Be your wonderful self!
5. Practice daily self-care. When you decide that you deserve the very best, the universe will follow suit and put the very best of everything in your path.
You deserve: excellent nutrition, adequate rest, lots of water, an orderly environment, respectful relationships, creative pursuits and great financial energy among countless other things.
You deserve: to love yourself, to respect yourself, to accept yourself unconditionally.
Think about these things, talk about these things, write about these things, focus on these things and take your focus off your problems and things you don't like. You will find yourself living in a positive world, surrounded by positive people, talking about positive things.
