4 Wrinkle Prevention Tips
For many people, aging is a scary prospect. The mere thought that youth will not last forever is enough to scare lots of people. Truth is, no one wants to grow old. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can all do about that until someone finds the "elixir of agelessness" in the nearest future. But for now, there are lots of products that can help delay or reduce the telltale signs of aging and quite a few of these have been proven effective.
However, the best anti aging solutions will not produce adequate results if certain regimens are not followed and habits are not acquired and maintained. Some of these include:
1. Reduce the amount of time spent in the sun
With the approach of summer, many people can’t wait to visit the beaches and just lie in the sun tanning their skins. This is good if done moderately and early in the morning when the intensity of the sun isn’t so high. Prolonged exposure to the mid-day sun isn’t exactly the best for the skin. This is because with increased exposure, the skin gradually becomes damaged as the collagen and elastin break down. If you MUST lie in the sun, at least get some protection in the form of sun-block or tanning lotions. These will prevent your skin from the direct impact of UV rays.
2. Wear some protective attire
As you lie in the sun, your eyes are likely to feel the impact of the sun. To prevent this, ensure that you are wearing a hat, and sunglasses. These are extremely crucial in preventing the sensitive skin around your eyes from experiencing the heat which can further increase the wrinkles around the eyes.
3. You might have to quit smoking
While this isn’t such a pleasant thing to hear, it is a habit that is worth giving up. Eventually, you would have to come to a point where you have to choose between two evils –rapid aging with smoking or slower aging without smoking. Smoking has been proven to not only cause lung cancer; it is also partially responsible for the lack of nutrients in the body. Also, vertical lines on the upper part of the lips have been attributed to smoking.
4. Get rid of alcohol and coffee
Did I hear someone say "NO WAY!"? Well, your feelings are quite understood but coffee and alcohol are not just compatible with younger looking skin. Take a good look at people who drink; you’ll notice the look older than their age. The reason for this is nothing more than an excessive intake of alcohol. Please note that an occasional drink here and there isn’t an issue. It is the habit that is not tolerable by the body. If you must look young and healthy, it is the way to go. Coffee too is not bad in itself if taken moderately. However, downing 5 cups in a day isn’t just going to get you in bad shape, it will literally make you shrivel leaving eye bags, worry lines, lines around the mouth and taut skin in its wake.
