Only You

I see you sitting alone thinking of what to do. Always being the one misunderstood must have been hard on you. Your blonde hair always covers your beautiful ocean blue eyes. What can I do to see your smile?

I walk towards you, but you look away. You've never noticed me before...To you, I never existed.
"Let me help you," I said. You don't answer. It feels like a barrier is forming between us. "Trust me," I smile, and you finally look at me. I push your hair out of your eyes, and you stare at me wonderingly.

Days pass and we become best friends. You change a lot, and soon you become really popular. We don't hang out much anymore. You keep getting farther and farther away from me. My love for you will last for eternity. Even if we can't be together in this world.

It's always been my one-sided love. I watch you go home on a rainy day, surrounded by friends. But even now, I rarely see you smile.

Only you can make my heart beat faster with every passing moment. I'll have to let go of you. That's what I'd come to notice. I can't belong to you, to your world. You're like an angel sent to me from heaven.
Because of you, I felt and loved someone. In this world, I will only want you and no one else.

Then, you stop and look at me before going on. Your friends stare at me and whisper to each other. I tighten my hold on my bag and just look at you. You smile, and it feels like my heart skipped a beat.
I try to hold back. If I let myself love you, I won't be able to let you go.

I turn and walk away into the rain. If my life were to end, I'd only want to see you...if that could be possible.

I feel warm hands touch my arm. It sends electric shocks throughout my body. "You'll catch a cold like that," you give me your umbrella and then you just look at me.

"I want to see you smile. Don't leave me yet," you say.

I ignore you and decide not to take the umbrella. Doing that hurt me more than it hurt you. The next thing I know is a car coming towards me. I freeze. This must be the end...

Then again, I hear your voice echoing in my head. I slightly open my eyes and see silent tears coming down your cheeks. You hold me close to you and whisper, "Don't leave me, Charlene."

I smile weakly at that. I felt pain throughout my whole body. The I hear ambulance cars coming closer.

"It's too late. I'll become an angel and watch over you. I want to see you smiling forever."

Breathing became harder. The last 3 words were impossible to say, but before my heart stopped I heard you say, "I love you..."

I was thinking that it would be better if I finish the story 'A world without you' then post it here...so I posted this short story for now.
