Choices
Choices in dealing with difficult situations in life.
We all have good times and bad;
times when we are happy and times when we are sad.
In the bad times, we must look to God who is our strength and our redeemer.
In the good times, we must look to God for He is the source of our good streamer.
This is the story of a woman who had many ups and downs
The downs outnumbered the ups and she became turned-around.
In the bad times she would start out praising the Lord and sticking to His commandments.
But as the bad times steadily get worse, she resorts to not praying, not praising and not reading His verse.
She becomes overwhelmed and sees no hope in sight.
She gives up and becomes indebted in this plight.
She succumbs to temptation and turns away
Then, things get even worse day by day.
Now she’s on a train to destruction
She’s lost in a world without God’s instruction
As the train moves faster and faster
She gives up on life, joy and laughter
Now she’s in a place where there’s no one who cares
All those around her are only there for the wares
She can’t go on, there is no way
Nothing but dread and fear of another day
Finally, a touch, a tingling in the heart
There is another way, she can make a new start
So she falls on her face in remembrance of one
One who was there before this plight begun.
Please help me Lord, you are my Savior
I ask your forgiveness and in this I do not waver
You died on the cross, the Redeemer for my sins
You are my Comforter and I want to be with you again
It is up to me whether Victory or defeat
And I pray Lord that you plant my feet
Plant them on solid ground
That never again I look around
In this story, this woman became so concerned with the details that she couldn’t appreciate the bigger nature of the situation. Nature being, we are God’s creation. He loves us and wishes us no harm. Our suffering is nothing compared to what He did for us. If we are to achieve our heavenly resting place, then we must stand strong in this race. This is not the end, it is only temporary.
