Shadows

Tell me who I am
And please don't lie
Caught between 2 people
Wearing each one's eyes

Shifting from person to person
Not knowing where I stand
Confused and lost and tired
Not knowing if I even stand on land

Who am I?
What am I?
What could I be?

lies and games and eyes
Smiling faces of those who lie
Talk to me and try to tell me who I am
But none of them could understand

I feel as though the real me is lost
Somewhere between these people's eyes
Constantly wearing a new disguise

If me even exists
As an evanescent shadow that is easily missed
Or if I never truly was there
If I didn't exist
Oh what a dark and humorous twist
