(3) For Me To Love You Would Be To Kill You
Who's the real enemy here? How Will Tammy handle her first date?
Marquiette Hotel. Front lobby, 7:00p.m 21/02/08
Jack arrived at exactly 7:00p.m. I had to credit the guy for punctuality. Dressed in a simple black long-sleeved shirt and black pants and yet he looked stunning. Not wanting to look too eager, I just pulled out the first dress I could find.
"Wow Miss Osborne, you look beautiful. I like the dress," Jack said when I neared him.
Ok…so maybe it was the fifth dress.
"Ditto."
Jack chuckled, "Not much of a talker are you?"
I rolled my eyes.
Jack took me by the hand and led me to the car. It was a black BMW. He was rich. But like a gentle man, he opened the door for me and I slid inside.
"Are you ready?"
I nodded as he started the car.
He chuckled, "So…who’s paying for that hotel you’re living in? It struck me as too fancy for a girl like you."
I shrugged, "A friend of mine."
"I see…Tell me a bit more about yourself Miss Osborne."
"Can we drop the formality? It’s really getting on my nerves."
Jack laughed, "Care to tell me what doesn’t get on your nerves?"
"Where you’re concerned, nothing much."
"You flatter me…"

Peyton Residence. 21/02/08 7:48p.m.
We arrived at his house well after 7:30. His house was huge. It definitely was not a mansion, but it wasn’t a cottage either. Brick walls, high security system. He knew how to live in style.
He unlocked the door and invited me in. I saw his father there putting on his coat.
"Nice to see you again Miss Osborne…" he said.
"Same with you Mr…. Peyton."
If Jack noticed the uneasy tension between me and his father he didn’t let it show.
"Hey dad, were you just leaving?"
Mr. Peyton nodded, "I’ll be back in 3 hours. Have fun. But not too much fun," he said with a meaningful glance towards me.
Jack nodded, "Sure thing dad." He gestured to the room ahead of me. I tried not to gasp... but it was just that everything was so….
Spectacular, it’s like a castle rather than a house.
"Do you want to catch a fly?"
I looked at him and then realized that my mouth was open so I snapped it shut quickly.
"Shall we have dinner?" he said.
I nodded quickly before I could embarrass myself even more. Jack led me out to the balcony and slid the seat out for me and I sat in it. He sat opposite from me.
He filled the glass with coke and said, "So, tell me a bit about yourself."
I shrugged, "Nothing much to tell."
He chuckled, "Ok then, I guess I’ll have to spoon feed you the questions. Let’s start with…what brings you to Elenore High?"
"Business," I answered bluntly.
"Business?" Jack said, "mm… I didn’t realize school required ‘business’."
"It’s complicated."
"Isn’t everything?"
We regarded each other in silence. The rest of the meal went fine with a question every now and then.
"So…what does your dad do in his spare time?" I asked.
Jack cocked his head, "Why do you care?"
"I don’t."
He chuckled, "I don’t know, he owns several other businesses. Don’t tell me why he chose to a principal as another job."
I smiled and sipped my drink.
"You know Miss Osborne," he lifted his glass, "you’re my type of girl."
I was just about to answer him when something was thrown at us. It landed on our table and had a flashing red light. The beeping noise got louder and louder.
I grabbed Jack by the hand and pulled him away, "Get down!"
Just then the table exploded. We both covered our heads as the wood splinters sailed over our heads. Jack swore and grabbed me by the arm, "Are you all right?"
I opened my mouth when another bomb was thrown at us, "Run!" he shouted. We sprinted for the door just as it exploded. Chaos reigned. Bullets were suddenly leaving splinters on the wall as people in black suits emerged from every room carrying guns.
I picked a wrong day to wear a dress. Jack pulled me upstairs and kicked the bed room door open. He pulled all the blinds shut and opened a cupboard. It was a safe. He fiddled with the lock and then opened it and pulled out a gun.
Jack tossed one at me and I caught it, "Aim, then fire."
I nodded at him. He gave me a bullet proof jacket and I put it on. I had used a gun before, but what I was really curious about was how HE knew how to use one. After he finished gearing up, Jack motioned me to be quiet.
I nodded and followed behind him as he led the way out. As Jack looked around one corner, bullets were instantly fired at him
.
Jack swore and loaded his gun, "Follow me closely," He whispered in my ear. I nodded. He silently walked to the edge of the wall and took a deep breath, "ready?"
"Yes."
He turned around the corner quickly while firing constantly while I fired at my sides. Suddenly, someone tackled me and I fell to the ground. I elbowed him in the face and kicked him in the stomach the person groaned and fell to the ground. I quickly picked up my gun and started shooting again. I didn’t aim, there wasn’t enough time too without becoming an open target. Man after man fell down.
Jack was just finishing of one guy when I saw another one try to sneak up behind him. I didn’t hesitate as I raised the gun and fired. The bullet whizzed centimeters from his ear and the man stumbled to the ground but Jack looked as white as a sheet.
I shrugged, "Practice."
"Tammy, look out!" I turned around in time just to see the butt of a gun come down on my head. I fell heavily and hit my head against the rail. I felt warm blood trickling my lip.
Jack tackled the guy and I got up and shot some more, they just didn’t seem to quit. How many more were there? There were too many for me to handle and I soon ran out of bullets.
"Uh JACK!"
His head whipped around.
"We HAVE A PROBLEM!"
I threw the gun at the nearest person and they dodged it easily, "I’m out of bullets."
He swore and took one that was strapped to his leg and threw it over to me. So there we stood, back to back firing at the outer circle of men that surrounded us. I could see all the wood splinters flying, the shouts and yells of those who were hit.
Suddenly pain was seeping through my upper arm. I swore as I struggled to keep my arm up. We had eliminated at least half of the men when our bullets ran out.
"What now?!"
Jack took a smoke bomb from his jacket, "We RUN!"
He threw the bomb and smoke instantly covered my vision. Jack ripped part of his shirt twice and handed the other piece to me while putting it over his mouth. I did the same. He grabbed my hand and started to lead me out. I tried to move my injured arm as little as possible. I had been through worse, but the pain never failed to make me squirm.
Jack kicked door after door open. I hadn’t remembered coming through this many. Jack opened the front door and we sprinted outside. He ran to the garden cupboard near the garage and got some gasoline to pour over the front of the house.
He then dug in his pocket to pull out a lighter then threw it at the house.
"KEEP RUNNING!" he shouted. I didn’t have to be told twice. I ran ignoring the pain in my arm. Fire licked the surface and shouts arose from the house. Jack stopped at his BMW and said, "Get in, I’m driving."
He started the engine and the tires screeched as we made our way from the house. I started to relax my shoulders and look out the window. My dress was a mess and so was my hair. Right now, I would kill to get my hands on some pain killers because my arm was killing me. I started to say something to Jack when the car came to an abrupt halt.
I was thrown from my seat to the front window. I looked at Jack to meet a gun that was pointing at my face.
"Get out!" Jack growled.
I opened the door and scrambled out. Mark was right, I didn’t know who could be trusted. We were on a lone road, with trees on either side. No one could aid me.
"Down on your knees and let me see your hands!"
I did what he said even though my arm felt like it was about to fall off. I was already planning my escape. Jack was out of weapons, so if I knocked-
"Don’t even think about it, Miss Osborne, you’ll have nowhere to go even if you kill me."
"What are you doing?" I demanded.
"Trying to figure out who you are."
"You know who I -!"
Jack released the safety latch of the gun and pointed it at me. Jeeze, I am really tired of having to look guns.
"Don’t give me any crap, Miss Osborne, tell me," He came closer.
"Who exactly are you and who do you work for? Your answer may decide whether you live or not."
Damn it, my cover was blown.
"Drop the gun, sonny." Jack’s head whipped around and I used the advantage by knocking the gun out of his hand and pointed it at him.
Mr. Peyton.
"Let’s not do anything we’ll regret Miss Osborne. I owe both of you an explanation. Just come with me into the car, and I’ll explain everything to you."
I nodded then lowered my gun. I walked towards Mr. Peyton but Jack grabbed my arm and twisted it. It didn’t hurt, but more took me by surprise to make me drop the gun. Jack caught it and pulled the trigger.
The bullet went straight into Mr. Peyton’s head, who then dropped lifeless to the gravel as a pool of blood formed around his head.
Jack just killed someone.
Jack just killed….
his own father.
This just got a whole lot more complicated and the worst part is, is that I think, from the moment I met him, I fell in love with him, which meant, I was in love with a guy who would kill his own father.
I was in love with a cold-blooded killer.

Please tell me what you think. I am not going to continue this series definitely, but I had inspiration so I just had to write more. As for a Dark Pursuit, there has been some questions, about the second to last line, "Why were you willing to give my life for your soul?"
It may not make sense now, but it hopefully will in the next chapter. i will try my absolute best to get it done before Christmas. If you don't see a lot of my stories posted here next year, it's probably because I'm going o be very, very busy next year.
The older you get, the harder school becomes.
But I will try my best.
I am currently trying to write A Dark Seduction 6
Please, please, please, please, please tell me what you think of this chapter!
Happy reading!
