What actually happens in this diet is there is a weight loss because one stops taking high calories for three days. Apart from that, you lose weight because there is water loss in your body.
However, remember to follow this diet only for 3 days. After that take a break of four to five days before you resume this 3-day tuna diet. During the break period you can follow a normal diet with less intake of fatty food.

The 3-day diet is otherwise known as three-day tuna diet. This is because: one, the main food included in this 3-day diet is tuna. The other diet foods include toast, fruits, black coffee, vegetable, ice-cream, saltine crackers, cheese and plenty of water.
The three-day tuna diet program does not have any diet food products of it own. The dieters are can use diet food products of any brand. A 3-day diet plan allows the dieters to use all kinds of herbs, pepper, salt, vinegar, lemon, mustard, and the sauces such as tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and soya sauce. However, you have to remember to use only diet sugar and drink only diet soda. The three-day tuna plan stresses on drinking at least four glasses of water.

- 1 slice plain toast
- 1 banana
- 1 cup tuna or cottage cheese
- 5 saltine crackers

- 2 hot dogs or 2 beef franks
- 1 cup cabbage or broccoli
- 1/2 cup grated or sliced carrot
- 1/2 cup sugar-free vanilla ice cream
- Water or black coffee or tea (use diet sugar)
Breakfast

- 5 saltine crackers
- 1 oz. cheddar cheese
- 1 apple
- 1 hard-boiled egg
- 1 slice plain toast

- 1 cup carrots
- 1 cup melon
- 1/2 cup sugar-free vanilla ice cream
