Doubles Win Warms Up Murray for Robredo
Andy Murray and Ross Hutchins beat Marcelo Ma and Andre Sa 6-1, 6-3 to stroll into the third round of the doubles in Indian Wells
There was no need for much time on the practice court for Andy Murray yesterday. A nice stroll into the third round of the doubles in partnership with Ross Hutchins did nicely for the No4 seed at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. Murray and Hutchins took control of their match against the experienced Brazilian pair of Marcelo Melo and Andre Sa and won 6–1, 6–3.
Today Murray takes on Tommy Robredo in the singles hoping to beat a player he has taken only one set off in their two previous meetings. Robredo, who beat him in Las Vegas in 2006 and indoors at Metz in 2007, is in ominously good form after two clay-court tournament wins in Latin America and beat the promising Croat Marin Cilic 7–5, 7–6.
