Chelsea Hold Heated Meeting Over Form
Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari held a meeting in which his players critiqued the performances of their team-mates
Luiz Felipe Scolari held a no holds barred meeting with his squad yesterday as they returned to training after Sunday's disappointing 2–2 draw at Fulham.
The manager made his thoughts known and gave the players a chance to discuss the side's performances, tactics and the contribution of team-mates in an effort to end a poor sequence of results. Chelsea have won only two of their past seven Premier League games and threw away the lead at Fulham in the final minutes.
The meeting at the club's Cobham base comes after the captain, John Terry, and Frank Lampard met Scolari to ask for more intensity in training, and Didier Drogba said in a magazine interview that he was surprised he had not been used in tandem with Nicolas Anelka.
"Before we went to training, we had a good team meeting," said Scolari yesterday. "Since Sunday I have had the chance to watch again the Fulham game and today, with my players, we talked about all of that game before going out for a good training session."
