Senna Tests for Honda
Bruno Senna, the nephew of Ayrton Senna, has had a test drive for a Honda formula one seat in 2009
Bruno Senna, the nephew of the late triple world champion Ayrton Senna, had his first test in a formula one car yesterday, a Honda RA108, at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya. The 24-year-old Brazilian, who finished second in this year's GP2 championship, is bidding for a Honda formula one seat for 2009, although he will be measured against his compatriot and fellow GP2 competitor, Lucas di Grassi, who is also being tested this week.
Takuma Sato, whose career was put in doubt after the Super Aguri team went bankrupt, topped the times yesterday driving for the Toro Rosso squad. Senna posted the 15th quickest time of the session, more than a second ahead of Di Grassi. Senna will drive again tomorrow alongside Jenson Button who has yet to finalize a contract for next season but is expected to remain with Honda.
