Higgins Trumps Trump to Reach Final

John Higgins survived a scare in the semi-final of the Royal London Watches Grand Prix in Glasgow against Judd Trump to progress to tomorrow's final, where he will meet either Ryan Day or Ali Carter.

Higgins looked to be coasting when 4-1 up in the first-to-six match, but Trump, who shocked tournament favourite and world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan in the quarter final last night, pulled the score back to 4-4.

However the two-time world champion drew on all his experience to rattle in breaks of 61 and 83 to mop up the two frames he required and close out the match.

Day will play Carter this evening to decide who will meet Higgins in tomorrow's final.

Higgins v Trump frame scores: 46-71 80-23 (51) 86-11 (55) 91-0 (91) 82-1 (78) 4-88 28-64 0-80 (80) 95-0 (61) 83-0 (83)
