Slick O'sullivan Gets Swift Revenge on Fu
Ronnie O'Sullivan beat Marco Fu 5-1 in Glasgow in a reverse of their match last year
Ronnie O'Sullivan's 5-1 win over Marco Fu in the Royal London Watches Grand Prix at the Scottish Exhibition Center, Glasgow, reversed the result of last year's final as the world champion coasted into the quarter-finals for the 11th time in his last 12 ranking events.
Starting with a fluke red from a safety shot, O'Sullivan took the opening frame with 73, sat out Fu's 116 in the second but with 57, 67 and 76 as his chief contributions claimed victory in only 65 minutes. Jamie Cope, the rising world No19 from Stoke, defeated Peter Ebdon, the 2002 world champion, 5-4.
