Steve Davis secured a place in the random draw of the Royal London Watches Grand Prix after beating Neil Robertson 5-4
Steve Davis, at 51 the oldest player on the circuit, followed up his run to the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters two weeks ago by laboring for four hours to beat Neil Robertson, Australia's top player, 5-4 for a place in the random draw of the last 16 of the Royal London Watches Grand Prix in Glasgow.
Stephen Hendry, seeking his first ranking title since February 2005, scraped home 5-4 on the final blue over the world No43, David Gilbert.
