Bushell and Simpson Put Century in Sight

A silver medal for Mickey Bushell and bronze for Hazel Simpson has taken Britain closer to 100th medal
Sprinters Mickey Bushell and Hazel Simpson won medals in Beijing today to take Great Britain to within two of a Paralympic century.

Wheelchair racer Bushell won silver in the men's T53 100 metres in 14.86secs. The 18-year-old from Telford, who has a rare congenital impairment that means the lower part of his spinal cord is missing, was 0.09secs behind American winner Josh George.

Simpson won her second medal of the Games with bronze in the women's T36 100m. The 29-year-old from Washington, Tyne and Wear, clocked 15.40secs as China's defending champion Wang Fang won in a world record of 13.82secs.
