Coveted Carvell Opts for the Company of Wolves
Warrington have signed Hull FC's prop Garreth Carvel, beating off competition from St Helens and Bradford
Warrington have responded to their early exit from the Super League play-offs by signing Hull's much-coveted prop Garreth Carvell on a three-year contract.
The 28-year-old, who made his Great Britain debut against New Zealand in 2006 and is expected to be included in the England squad for this autumn's World Cup, was also wanted by St Helens and Bradford. But Warrington were the only club prepared to pay the modest transfer fee that Hull were demanding after Carvell signed a new three-year contract with them in July only to change his mind hours later.
Wolves have confirmed that the Wigan hooker Mickey Higham will join them next season.
