Bolt Cruises to Victory to Cap Amazing Season

Usain Bolt won in Belgium in his final 100m of the season, finishing 0.06sec clear of his great rival, Asafa Powell
Usain Bolt battled the cold and a headwind, but still managed to come from behind to beat Asafa Powell in a time of 9.77sec in a season-closing 100m at the Van Damme Memorial in Belgium.

Running into a 1.3 meter-per-second headwind, the Olympic champion had a bad start and immediately saw Powell shoot ahead of him. In his last race of the season, however, nothing was going to stop the world record holder from enjoying his European farewell.

Halfway through, Bolt pulled level with Powell and then his huge stride took over, finishing just 0.08sec off the world record he set at the Beijing Games. Powell, the only runner to have beaten Bolt this season, finished second in 9.83sec and Nesha Carter made it a Jamaican clean sweep in 10.07sec.
