Wales to Announce Record Turnover and Pre-tax Profit
The Welsh Rugby Union is to announce turnover of more than £50m last year with a £3m profit before tax
The Welsh Rugby Union will today announce a record turnover of more than £50m last year, with a profit of £3m before tax. Wales' grand-slam success helped boost turnover by 15% on the previous year, when the union made a £2.3m loss.
"These record figures are evidence that we are achieving our goals in a meaningful way which will benefit the whole of Welsh rugby," said the WRU group chief executive, Roger Lewis. "Going forward we cannot be complacent but I want all the followers of Welsh rugby to note that our successes are now measured in more than words and this financial report is profound evidence that we are delivering on our promises."
