West Ham Defender Ferdinand Set to Sign for Sunderland Today
The West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand will complete an £8m transfer to Sunderland providing he passes a medical in the next few hours.
Roy Keane, the Sunderland manager, has confirmed that the 23-year-old center-back, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, is in the north-east to complete the move. "Anton is up today for a medical and we hope to get that [deal] tied up today,'' Keane said.
Meanwhile, the West Ham manager Alan Curbishley today rejected speculation that striker Craig Bellamy could be on his way to Manchester City. ''It's nonsense,'' he said. ''Craig is here and in full training today.''
