Olympics 2008: Victoria Pendleton and Chris Hoy Sprint to Gold for Great Britain

Victoria Pendleton has won gold for Great Britain after beating Australia's Anna Meares in the final of the women's sprint.

Minutes later, Chris Hoy got the better of Jason Kenny in an all-British men's sprint final, as the team took their gold haul at the Laoshan velodrome to seven. For Scotland's Hoy it was his third title of the Games, making him the first Briton to achieve the feat in a single Olympics since Henry Taylor in 1908.

However, the partnership of Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish could only finish eighth in the madison.
