Olympics: Louis Smith Makes History With Pommel Horse Bronze
Teenager Louis Smith won an unexpected bronze in the pommel horse final at the National Indoor Stadium in Beijing - becoming the first British man to ever claim a gymnastics individual medal.
The 19-year-old from Peterborough posted a score of 15.725 to leap ahead of all but one of the five competitors who had gone before him.
However, last man Filip Ude from Croatia finished on the same score but had fewer deductions on count back for artistic merit so was awarded silver. China's three-time reigning world champion Xiao Qin claimed gold with a score of 15.785.
