Olympics: Britain Fail to Make Freestyle Relay Final After Resting Key Swimmers

Team GB wasted their chance of a medal by resting two key swimmers for the women's 200m freestyle relay heat
Great Britain have failed to make the final of the women's 200m freestyle relay after opting to rest two of their strongest swimmers over the distance, and consequently finishing sixth in their heat.

Both Rebecca Adlington, who won gold in the 400m freestyle on Monday, and Caitlin McClatchey were left out of the team for today's race but the move backfired horribly. Britain had been expected to challenge for a medal in the relay but now won't even take part in tomorrow's final after a team made up of Jo Jackson, Mel Marshall, Hannah Miley and Fran Halsall finished ninth overall in the heats.
