Manchester United Defender Evra Denies Fa Charge
Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has denied the improper conduct charge leveled at him by the FA
The Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has denied the charge leveled at him by the Football Association over his part in a confrontation with a Chelsea groundsman following Manchester United's 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge last season.
After a lengthy investigation Evra and Chelsea groundsman Sam Bethell were charged with improper conduct, while Bethell was also charged with using abusive language aggravated by reference to nationality/race. Bethell also denies the charges.
The alleged incident occurred during United's warm-down following their defeat at Stamford Bridge last April. Charges were made against both men in July, after an intensive investigation which involved the analysis of video evidence, CCTV footage and various witness statements from individuals present.
Both men have requested personal hearings, although the FA has yet to announce a date for the hearings.
