Djokovic Stuns Nadal to Set Up Final Against Murray
Novak Djokovic will play Andy Murray in the final of the Cincinnati Masters after ending Rafael Nadal's 32-match unbeaten run
Andy Murray will not face Rafael Nadal in the final of the Cincinnati Masters tournament after the soon-to-be-crowned world No1 suffered a surprise loss to Novak Djokovic.
Instead Murray will meet the Serbian Djokovic, whom he defeated for the first time in the quarter-final of last week's Canadian Masters, though on that occasion victory merely presaged his exit at the hands of Nadal in the semi-finals. Nadal, meanwhile, who would have immediately supplanted Roger Federer as the best player in the world by winning in Cincinnati, must now wait until August 18 to overtake the Swiss.
Nadal's 6-1, 7-5 loss also brought to an end his impressive 32-match winning streak. Djokovic made surprisingly quick work of the Spaniard, firing four aces and winning 76% of second-serve points.
Djokovic holds a 4-1 win record against Murray, who will be playing in his first Masters series final.
