Malbranque Undergoes Medical at Sunderland
Spurs midfielder Steed Malbranque has traveled to Sunderland for a medical and looks set to sign for Roy Keane's side
Roy Keane is closing in on his third signing from Tottenham Hotspur of the summer as midfielder Steed Malbranque undergoes a medical at the Stadium of Light. Keane originally put in a bid for four Spurs players and with full-back Pascal Chimbonda and midfielder Teemu Tainio having already signed, and Malbranque on the verge of joining them, only center-back Younes Kaboul remains.
Malbranque was a regular with Spurs under Juande Ramos last season but was a right-footer playing on the left flank, and once Keane's bid was accepted it became clear the 28-year-old was not central to the Spaniard's plans.
Keane has already had a bid accepted for Kaboul, but the player has also attracted interest from Aston Villa and Portsmouth and is set to decide which of the three teams he prefers.
