Pistorius Fails to Make South Africa's Team for the Olympics
The double-amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorius will not be included in South Africa's team for Beijing 2008
The double-amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorius has seen his last hope of making South Africa's Olympic team for Beijing 2008 disappear, after the country's track and field body confirmed he had not made their 400m relay team.
Pistorius had hoped his personal best of of 46.25sec would be good enough to win him a place in the relay, despite the fact it was outside the Olympic qualifying time of 45.55sec. But Athletics South Africa president Leonard Chuene stated this morning that four other hopefuls had posted faster times.
