Roddick Through to Quarter-final After Fish Withdraws

Andy Roddick eased into the quarter-final of the Artois Championships after Mardy Fish withdrew following injury
Defending champion Andy Roddick eased into the quarter-finals of the Artois Championships today after his opponent Mardy Fish was forced to retire through injury.

Roddick had just won a tie-break to claim the opening set of their third-round clash at Queen's Club when Fish called for the trainer. The American had his left ankle heavily strapped but, after trying to stand on it, signalled he was unable to continue. Roddick will face either Andy Murray or Latvia's Ernests Gulbis in the last eight.

Croatia's Ivo Karlovic, who lost to Roddick in the 2005 final, beat 10th seed Fernando Gonzalez of Chile 6-3, 7-5.
