Mosley Stripped of Official Duties in Monaco
Max Mosley has been denied the chance to make a return to formula one at the Monaco grand prix
Max Mosley will play no official role in the Monaco grand prix on Sunday week. The president of the sport's governing body, the FIA, embarrassed by revelations in March of sado-masochistic bondage sessions with prostitutes, was hoping to make a low-profile return in Monaco, where he lives in tax exile, having been airbrushed or banned from the formula one circuit since the disclosures.
But the FIA indicated yesterday that its official representative in Monaco would be Marco Piccanini, a deputy president, adding pointedly that "Prince Albert will meet only its official representative". Mosley's future with the FIA is due to be decided at an EGM on June 3.
