Smile
My love for sunny days, and what it can do for a person :).
The older I get the more I learn to adore
When the sun releases its long golden fingers onto the rooftops of houses
Warming the city with a smile.
And the older I get the more I look back
On the heart wrench and the heartbroken
The things that have interrupted my life with a crash
The things that just came walking in that did not belong
And the older I get the more I realize there’s nothing more that I love
Than when I feel the earth’s smile caress my face
Those memories are wiped away
And the swaying leaves above my head
They dance with the sun
Smiling down on me
and my heart sings
my heart sings of the happiness
the happiness that comes with the older I get.
And with each smile
And with each sunny day
I know that things will be okay
And all the shadows of the sadness
Are already being wiped away, with each smile
With each sunny day
have set my roots here
