Freedom

Hurt yet free?
No longer does he have a hold on my heart
I am finally free
At least I thought I was.
Yet every time I see him I still want to cry
I still love him
But can you ever forget your first true love
Love that deep only comes once.
It feels like you’re dying slowly each day
As you know is he is with another
His hands and words are caressing her skin
While yours is cold and empty
My heart dead and slowly wanting to cry
Because no longer does the sun shine with you
Nor does the moon guide your home.
The darkness is your only friend
Yet it is as cruel and day
Playing with your mind
Making shadows and using your memory to hurt you
