Bulls Agree to Let Cook Join Castleford for Rest of Season
Rugby league: Castleford have attempted to bolster their bid against relegation by signing Bradford's 21-year-old second-row Matt Cook
Castleford's long search to strengthen their squad will finally bear fruit today when they announce the signing of the Bradford second-row Matt Cook on loan for the rest of the season.
Cook, a 21-year-old former schoolboy rugby union international from Hertfordshire, scored his first try of the year in Bradford's 24-8 victory at Hull last Friday, but with Glenn Morrison and David Solomona both set to return from injury in this Sunday's game at Hull KR, the Bulls coach, Steve McNamara, has agreed to release him to the struggling Tigers.
Cook could go straight into Castleford's squad for their televised game against Hull on Friday, when a second consecutive victory following the shock win against St Helens would lift them off the bottom of the table for the first time this season.
