Tigers Hire Chambers
Rugby league: The Dwain Chambers saga has taken another surprising twist, with the sprinter expected to go on trial at Castleford
Castleford have made a remarkable move for the disgraced sprinter Dwain Chambers. The Tigers will announce on Monday Chambers' surprise capture on a trial basis.
The sprinter was banned for two years in February 2004, backdated to August 2003, after admitting taking the designer steroid THG. Since his return he has been frozen out of meetings in Europe and is facing a lifetime ban from the Olympics.
He failed to break into American football in 2004 and has not played rugby league at any level. Castleford have been in talks with Chambers, 30 next Saturday, for several weeks.
