Walker Condemns O'sullivan's Conduct

Snooker: Ronnie O'Sullivan has been heavily criticized for his behavior at a press conference after defeat in the China Open
Sir Rodney Walker, the chairman of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, has described Ronnie O'Sullivan's conduct in a press conference at the China Open this week as "unacceptable".

Walker has reviewed video footage of O'Sullivan making a string of lewd comments in front of Chinese journalists that was posted on the internet on Thursday. "Ronnie's behavior was unacceptable," Walker said. "The matter has been referred to the disciplinary committee and is under review. On behalf of World Snooker, I have apologized in person today to the promoter of the China Open. I would also like to send my apologies to the people of China for any offense that may have been caused."

The controversy attracted considerable coverage in British newspapers but was not picked up by the Chinese media. The Today Morning Express, for example, reported: "At the post-game press conference, O'Sullivan kept his gentlemanly manners".
