Everton v West Ham - Live!
Kick off: 5.15pm
So farewell, then, Walter 'Foggy' Dewhurst. This week saw the sad passing of Brian Wilde, the sublime comic actor who played Mr Barrowclough in Porridge and, of course, Foggy in Last of the Summer Wine. An ex-army man, Foggy would lead troops Compo and Clegg into battle with a steely-eyed determination, planning their escapades with almost military precision - though inevitably those plans would end up going slightly awry. In that respect, you could compare Foggy to David Moyes and his ongoing quest to establish Everton as a Champions League force. Meanwhile Clegg's more easy-going, laissez-faire approach to life is roughly equivalent to that of Moyes' opposite number Alan Curbishley (Peter Sallis), whose team's season shows all the direction of Compo hurtling downhill in a tin bath.
