Murray Loses Cool and Match in Dubai

Tennis: Andy Murray is out of the Dubai Open after losing 7-5, 6-4 to fifth seed Nikolay Davydenko in the quarter-finals
Andy Murray has crashed out of the Dubai Open in the quarter-finals, going down 7-5, 6-4 to fifth seed Nikolay Davydenko. Davydenko will now face Spain's Feliciano Lopez in the semi-finals.

The British No1 never got going and was lucky to escape censure by the match umpire after repeatedly swearing loudly as the Russian took control. Murray lost the first set after Davydenko engineered a break point at 5-5 with an athletic overhead-shot, and while he looked to be recovering after moving to a 3-0 second set lead surrendered five games in a row to lose the set and the match.

The week had started so well for the 20-year-old Scot with a stunning victory over world No1 Roger Federer in the opening round. However, yesterday's scratchy victory over Spain's Fernando Verdasco was followed by an admittance that he is suffering from restricted movement due to problems in his right knee.
