Watford Pave Way for King's £5m Fulham Switch

Fulham have had an offer of £5m for Watford striker Marlon King accepted, with the Hornets taking Collins John on loan until the end of the season
Fulham have had an offer of £5m for Watford striker Marlon King accepted, with Collins John going in the opposite direction on loan until the end of the season. Watford will then have an option to make John's transfer permanent for a pre-arranged fee.

King, whose is yet to agree personal terms or undergo his medical at Craven Cottage, has scored 11 goals so far this season for Watford and 37 in 82 starts since joining the Hornets. A serious knee ligament injury restricted him to just 13 top-flight games for Watford last season, during which he scored four times.

John had been on loan at Watford's Championship rivals Leicester earlier this season, where he scored twice in 11 games. He was Fulham's top scorer with 13 goals in 2005-06, but fell out of form and favor last season, scoring just once in 25 appearances in all competitions.

The Watford manager Aidy Boothroyd tried to bring him on a permanent deal last January, but John rejected the move at the time due to the Hornets' poor position in the Premier League.
