Everton have confirmed that they have agreed a deal, believed to worth £1.5m, to sign Plymouth's 17-year-old midfielder Dan Gosling, a local product who has made 24 first-team appearances since his debut at the age of 16.
The deal is expected to be completed later this week, but the youngster will not be considered for first-team action this season. "He is one for the future," confirmed the Everton boss David Moyes.
It is the second deal involving the two sides this week after the Everton striker Lukas Jutkiewicz joined Plymouth on loan on Monday.
Meanwhile, QPR have continued their January spending spree by signing Patrick Agyemang from Championship rivals Preston for an undisclosed fee. The 27-year-old Ghana international has signed a 4½-year deal to become the latest addition to Luigi De Canio's Loftus Road revolution.
Agyemang joins Hogan Ephraim, Akos Buzsaky, Matthew Connolly, Gavin Mahon and Kieran Lee in the new-look QPR squad, and could make his debut in Saturday's FA Cup third-round trip to Chelsea.
