Federer Stunned By González Fightback

Tennis: Chile's Fernando González comes from set down to beat Roger Federer at Masters Cup.
Fernando González handed Roger Federer his first ever defeat in round-robin play at the Masters Cup, as he defeated the world No1 3-6, 7-6 (7-1), 7-5. Futhermore, it was the first time that the Swiss has lost consecutive matches in 4˝ years, bringing an end to his 11-match winning run against González.

As the match headed into the second-set tie-break, Federer looked comfortably on course to claim victory, having won the first set 6-3. However, González stormed into a 6-0 lead and only needed two of his set points to level the match.

In a pulsating final set, Federer failed to take advantage of five break points, before González broke decisively in the 12th game to move 6-5 ahead. He held his nerve to serve out and secure victory.
