Philanthropy to Help Punters at Tasty 20-1

Horse racing: Philanthropy is 'in great form' and looks a good each way bet on the fast ground at Doncaster.
At 20-1 with the sponsors, Philanthropy looks worth each-way support in today's tote sport.com November Handicap, the last big race of the Flat turf season. Unseasonably fast ground at Doncaster will count against a number of his rivals, including possibly the ante-post favorite Pippa Greene, but Philanthropy is effective in these conditions.

Yesterday Philanthropy (3.10) was reported to be "in great form" by his trainer, Kevin Ryan, who added: "He looks marvelous for this time of year. The faster the ground the better for him." On the form book, a sound case can be made for Ryan's gelding.

Last time out at Chester Philanthropy finished fourth behind Buccellati, who has since gone on to win a hot race at Ascot, and at York in September he proved two and a half lengths too good for Sanbuch. He is now better off at the weights with the runner-up, who has since finished a close second to Malt Or Mash at New market. Connections of Malt Or Mash are concerned about the fast ground and may yet withdraw him, while Pippa Greene has looked at home in easier conditions for his last two wins. There is plenty of confidence behind Heron Bay despite his lengthy absence and he won on fast ground at Royal Ascot.

Don caster 2.05 It could be significant that connections feel Kahlua Kiss is ready for a belated return to action. She would go close if repeating the form which saw her run Imperial Stride to a short head at Good wood last year.

Win canton 2.20 Ornais is expected to make the grade over fences, but on this lively ground he may have to settle for second behind Joe Lively who sets a fair standard on his easy Cheltenham win.

Don caster 2.35 On figures, Sunrise Safari has it all to do against the likes of Greek Renaissance, Advanced, Borderlescott and Zidane. But it is interesting that he is running in place of his 111-rated stable companion, Appalachian Trail. Sunrise Safari looked better than ever when scoring here last month.

Wincanton 2.50 Following a pipe-opener on the Flat last month, Kings Quay should be in good shape to complete a double here for his trainer John Quinn, successful last year with Crow Wood. Kings Quay only scraped home at Market Rasen in July, but this quicker ground suits him better.

Wincanton 3.25 While he can take liberties at his fences, Abragante will surely be hard to beat with a clean round. He was much-improved over hurdles last season and is 23lb lower on this return to chasing.

Don caster 3.40 Sixth in the Cesare witch, one place behind Inchnadamph, Kasthari can turn the tables over a course where he has put up some of his best performances.

Stolen Moments 12.50 San down

Conqueror of Character Building in an Ayr bumper two seasons ago, Stolen Moments got his hurdles career off to a promising start when beaten half a length by Accordello at Wetherby last year. He failed to build on that but, having his first run for Alan King here, the six-year-old can oblige off a handy mark of 107 - he was trying to give Accordello 7lb at Wetherby and she is now rated 122.
